Mineable Dwarf Planets - Pirate Addon

In 1 collection by SirCampalot
Extended Tech Tree Mod.
32 items
Description
Addon for Mineable Dwarf Planets. 50% chance 1 additional Mineable Dwarf Planet will spawn in every star system which will be guarded by a hostile pirate base and up to 24 defense platforms.

While there's currently no mission to kill it, its location will be marked right from the start with a question mark, making it easier to find. The question mark will disappear once the pirate base has been explored. Killing the pirate base will not give a mission reward (yet), the reward for now is getting to loot all the corpses and claiming (by force) exclusive mining rights for this Mineable Dwarf Planet :P.

It's safe to enable and disable this add-on mod during your current playthrough, but it needs Mineable Dwarf Planets enabled to function properly as this is not a standalone mod. You can get Mineable Dwarf Planets here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2893554386

Mineable Dwarf Planets are huge asteroids containing custom resource nodes which will drop mostly iron and copper, but also some carbon, tritanium, uranium and gold (and some diamonds).

This addon will spawn an additional Mineable Dwarf Planet (guarded by a greedy pirate base), so there is at least a 50% chance you will have 2 dwarf planets in any given star system with this mod enabled.

I may add a mission to kill this pirate base at a later date, but for now I made the question mark visible as soon as you enter a star system (it will always be visible until you visually close in on the question mark).

Another one of my mods that broke during Cosmoteer 0.26.2, now patched and should be working again.
Version 1.1.0 supports Cosmoteer 0.26.2.
Previous versions of Cosmoteer will no longer work with this mod due to changes in how asteroids are spawned.

1.0.2 fixed a potential issue when also using a mod that adds a faction (tbh I really wish the devs would fix this particular issue though, it's been quite a pain (and not just for me)).

Also updated the version number while I was at it anyway.

@BelPontas: This mod adds them to star systems in your current playthrough that you have not visited yet. Do keep in mind that the spawnchance is about 50%.

Does this add them to newly visited systems in an already running game, or is it just on universe creation?

Version 1.0.1 updates the supported Cosmoteer version, to get rid of the "incompatible mod" message.
No other changes were made.

@Irondog:
Thank you for your feedback, Sir Irondog :)

I wish more modders would work on adding content to the gameworld like this mod. Parts are nice but too much repetitive game mechanics moving from system to system get old. Seen one system you've seen them all. Thanks for the mod Sir!

Just to clarify, these addons will also work with this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946416680 which is the Mineable Dwarf
Planets mod with the Ω in the name.

The (older and obsolete unsupported) experimental version that I made somewhere last year which has 6 or 7 Mineable Dwarf Planets per system -may- work with this mod and can be found here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2895279066 though this is an old unsupported mod that I once made as a request for someone.

@Mastermind99:
Good question. It could actually. Like I mentioned in the description of that experimental mod, it's unsupported but it could work with this and the beacon mod for MDP.

I'd say give it a try :P

But I can tell you that this addon will work with the Extended Tech Tree version of Mineable Dwarf Planets.

Does this work with the Experimental addon version of the Dwarf Planets?
