Description
Mod improve performance of water and water effects in the game of kenshi, mod use technology of PSO and adapt it for Water :)
Mod also adapt the references
its important to note that results of the mod are humble due to majority of files involving water ware already DDS
So what was changed:
- All textures looks as before
- Static Water in most places have easier to render texture format
- Rain drops on water
- Water collapses and waves when people walk in it
MOD IMPROVE SWAMP AND WETLANDS PERFORMANCE! (duh)
Gain comes from pairing references with the converted files

Quick explaination, why and how mod works
my mod don't care about compressed texture project, you can keep it or remove it
this mod does not relate to compressed texture project in any way

Quite reverse, mod decompress textures if this sounds easy xDD
So your Graphics card take the textures and calculate them into display ready format
if by some magical reasons your textures would already be in perfect Display ready format
your graphics card could spend less time calculating and more on keeping up with demands

My new texture universally fit to the mesh regardless of how big or small pool of water is, Camera angle and distance from the player is adapted instantly which normally you had your GPU having to do all of this
Mod is quite revolutionary for the game (we call it industry standard in modern age) and honestly at this point good looking performance is a choice, this mod is just one more step towards getting it

Installation and credits:
Mod does not require any post-subscribe work, mod include files intended to be included in more drastic release
but said release was transformed into PerformanceFix on nexus...file remain for sake of open format of the project
in case if someone would like to take inspiration in my work or trials

this should be loaded as one of the 1st, depends if you have other texture mods or not
it should be last texture mod to load, but one of the 1st mods to load
you can use my nexus mods instead as they don't have load order

i had never seen such things and never had them in my game
i would advice to Verify integrity of your files
as for this mod it use Hand-made conversions, not done with robot, but it does not change static water only moving one

I'm sorry if the question is off-topic, but I noticed that there are water bugs in kenshi (it looks like large squares or straight lines contrasting with the surrounding textures). I noticed them near the coast of Leviathans and near the islands of None. Does this mod fix these bugs with water? And if not, what advice would you give me?

Performance fix already optimize water
Mesh updater is still good for steam mods, but vanilla/locally modded game no longer need it

it's not quite clear to me, does performance fix do this too?

another question, should i use the engine mesh updater with performance fix or is PF an improved version of EMU?
