Description
THE PROBLEM
When Ethics and Civics: Bug Branch and Ancient Cache of Technologies are both active on a mod list, Fallen Empires will often not spawn with Starbases, causing them to not own their own systems, regardless of the mod load order. This mod fixes this.


HOW IT IS FIXED
This mod contains a single file in /common/fallen)empires/ called cba_fallen_empires.txt
The folder loads .txt files alphabetically, meaning load order never matters.

Bug Branch's was called bugged_fallen_empires and ACOT's was acot_fallen_empires, since it was alphabetically, Bug Branches always overwrote the changes to the individual fallen empires referenced in the files. My file merges the changes made by both mods.


COMPATIBILITY/LOAD ORDER
Should be compatible with any mod that doesn't further change the original Fallen Empires in the game via the /common/fallen_empires/ folder.

Due to the nature of how the *_fallen_empires.txt files load, the positioning of this specific mod actually does not matter whatsoever.

If it isn't working then it isn't going to be fixed for another year. When I go another bout of playing the game.

Though I significantly doubt anything was updated in any way, in either mod, to break the compatibility patch due to what this specifically overwrites.

BUT if it was somehow affected, outside of the mod launcher saying a version issue, which honestly should be ignored anyways for all mods on the Stellaris Workshop, anyone is more than welcome to copy or take over the mod and update it as needed.

The problem with being unable to recruit armies is due to Bug Branch using a different Machine trait when using the ethic combo that makes them use happiness.

I have no problem personally with armies in my games. I play as a Machine Empire with ACOT, Bug Branch, and about 120 other mods. Could be wrong, but I don't think it is related.

i think the army rework of acot breaks with bug branch on basis of i can only make the gestalt spam bots- best guess is that acot doesn't recognise bug branch's gestalt ethic as gestalt and thus plays silly

not certain but about 80% sure

I only came back in 3.8 so I couldn't tell you when they first became problematic. Just that they are now without a compatibility patch. Regardless, this fixes the problem.
