Description
Regiment of renown with unique appearance and ability, available to all dwarf factions from level 1. I am still not sure if leaving the unit recruitable at lvl 1 is the the best thing, need feedback.

It is lore friendly, slayers can use any equipment.

I update change notes, check there from time to time to see how the mod evolves.

The unit is balanced from my hundreds of tested battles and it performs as I intended. It is a little worse then giant slayers vs single entity monsters but still kills them, worse then them vs elite infantry but waaaaay better vs trash, better vs ranged and has the Rune of Hearth & Home. Lower model count also has pros and cons.

The unit has a lot of variables so its performance will vary based of the situation, you have options with how you use them.

Description:

Clerics of Grimnir who took the slayer oath and who as expected, fight with fearless abbadon. They carry shields so the chance of a shameful death via projectiles is reduced. Grungni forged and Grimnir fought. Reflecting that, their leader carries a lesser rune of Hearth and home and a Flaming rune. All their weapons have runes of fire. The slayers also carry runes adapted from the ones used for smelting, that they can resonate to create a powerful heat wave that sets the enemies ablaze.

When the clerics fulfill their slayer oath and there are but a few of them left to fulfill it, they get inspired as if Grimnir himself is testing them and so, they ignore blows and fight all the harder in a frenzy. The sight of their devotion is so contagious that all those nearby fight with the same frenzy for as long as the slayers are nearby.

They are led into battle by a veteran Ironbreaker turned slayer who feels at home in heavy armor and who uses an enchanted slayer Great Axe. (Think of the officer as of a mini hero, he is kinda the equivalent of a three chevron aspiring champion model, not as tanky but with better dmg and with flamable effect)

The unit kit provides quite a bit of versatility and choice to how you are gonna use the slayers. They can bolster the front-line but can't hold alone or they can flank and boom themselves and everyone around them up, maybe causing a mass rout and saving the day, who knows. Or they can push past the frontline and make chaos in the backline.

From my testing the unit is good against large models, they are slayers after all. Their weakness still is infantry, anything better then slaves/goblins/ungors/gnoblars will fulfill their oath. They can't take them alone due to low model count, and they can't really use their rune ability amidst other dwarfs as they will do friendly fire, disrupt the formation and and imbue enemy weapons with flaming attack. (Friendly units only take dmg from the initial explosion of the rune, they do not get the Smelted effect.)

The rune helps them clear chaff infantry like goblins, skaven warriors, stuff like that. The dmg of the Roasted effects scales based on number of enemy models affected.

Gaze of Grimnir is a powerfull aoe effect, keep an eye on it.

The unit is pretty much done now.

As it is now the unit is perfectly fine to be used in campaign and custom battle and it benefits from all expected lord skills and techs.

Known issues:

-The mod does not work in coop atm for me, If it works for you, please let me know.
-when there is only one model left in the unit, the card will display the number 0, this is an issues from the game, nothing can be done.

@Sir Percedal of Sadlygrove Atm no, I had some ideas about a normal unit, with more models, no officer, different looks, no armor and only with the fire axes. I'll post it as a separate mod when I make and balance them.

Check Change-notes. Clerics are less OP now and have a clearer role in the army.
