Description
700 Year Life Expansion: Humanely Sourced From The Finest Ingredients In The Galaxy - Abrasax Industries
Based on the 2015 movie Jupiter Ascending

Introducing:
RegeneX [jupiter-ascending.fandom.com] a strategic resource of immense value to your empire. Learn to harness it's power and you can use this resource to rejuvenate your leaders granting them virtual immortality. However; these benefits do not come for free and the process to acquire enough RegeneX to sustain your ambitions can be troublesome.

Vision and Scope:
I've had the idea to make a mod based on this movie for some time and with the recent release of First Contact and Galactic Paragons I finally feel that the time is right. The intent of this mod is to expand the options for improving leader lifespan particularly for non gestalt empires and to explore the thematic ideas introduced in the film. I intend to maintain a balance that is close as possible to vanilla.

Mechanics Flavor Overview:
The aforementioned strategic resource known as RegeneX can provide a powerful boon to any empire who can learn to harness it. Regenex has powerful rejuvenating properties. Taking a bath in this substance is known to reduce ones biological age.

Obtaining sufficient quantities of RegeneX is tricky and not without a compromise to an empires other objectives. The traditional and most common method for producing RegeneX is to infiltrate and subsequently harvest the populations of a pre-ftl empire. Alternatively, undesirables can be processed directly into RegeneX via purge; however, this process is not as efficient. There are rumors of an ancient weapon capable of harvesting entire world in an instant. The most devout empires commonly sacrifice their own population for access to this precious resource. It is theorized that with enough investment into genetic research it may be possible to create a synthetic variant of RegeneX.

Mechanics in Detail:
All Features in this mod require unlocking a tier 3 genetic technology. It will only appear as an option if you have some means of producing RegeneX See: Documentation

Compatibility
Mod is made with compatibility in mind. No major overrides. There is an empire edict to view the RegeneX stockpile in case the UI is not working due to conflicting mods. Build in support for Gigas. Should work on new saves as well.

WIP
Core functionality shown in the movie is implemented. I'm releasing now to get some feedback but I would like to expand the mod over time. First thing to add is some interaction in the galactic community and a way to distribute RegeneX to the population of a planet for a boon. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

I am still learning many things relating to modding. If you encounter any issues please let me know so I can fix them. Additionally any feedback relating to the mod would be much appreciated. It's small, it's simple, and it helps address an elephant in the room for alot of empires: Leaders dying of old age! Rather than setting them live longer they are actually made younger, which is an interesting twist!

However it needs more uses (like that Planetary decision), as once you have enough you'll never run out from how long the edict cooldown is.

Thanks for the great comments. I'm going to fix that conflict with Nanite Machines right away. I missed a few days working on the mod so the planet decision is not quite ready but hopefully soon.

Hey! Incredible idea, and well executed mod!
Suggestion: could it be possible to do something for crimimal syndicates? Like, getting a foreign planet hooked on RegeneX through illegal smuggling and street pushers, generating revenue or something?

Hello, for info the mod Nanite Machines & Distant Stars Overhaul is using the same name for their planet killer, creating conflicts if both mods are used.
