Water Park 1
Create the Water Park of your dreams with 'Water Park 1' in Cities: Skylines! A fully customisable asset pack to create your own unique and functional Water Slides, Pools, Lazy River and more.

I would recommend watching my Video Guide on YouTube to help better understand the assets, to learn how to use them, and for some tips and techniques on usage. It's the easiest way to learn about the assets.

Water Park 1 is a collection of Water Park themed assets designed to help us build functional Water Parks in Cities: Skylines.

The assets have been in development for over 8 months leading up to release in August 2023. This will be an ongoing asset collection, with hopefully even more assets added following the initial release, follow me to stay notified about new releases. I also hope to bring Water Park 2 to Cities: Skylines 2.

If you enjoy the assets, please consider donating[www.paypal.com] or supporting me on Patreon[patreon.com], supporting me also means supporting future development of Water Park 1 and Water Park 2 in Cities: Skylines 2 along with other fun and exciting packs I have ideas for. Patreon perks include having an input on future assets, early access, WIP content, exclusive perks such as Patreon voted 'Cinematic Cims' character packs and more. As a thank you, the first 5 Patrons and Contributors who start supporting me, I will create them a 'Cinematic Cim' prop of their choice to put in game.

Assets include:

Water Slides - Built using the in-game 'train' functionality. Slides come in various colours and styles with functional Slide Stations where the citizens will enter the slide.

Swimming Pools - Ready-to-go ploppable Swimming Pool Stations (function as a train station). Alternatively, you can create custom pools using networks in any shape and size.

Lazy River - Built using the in-game 'ferry' functionality to allow citizens to take the Lazy River as a form of public transport.

Pedestrian Roads and Paths - Normal, One-way, Slow Paths (1/4 speed and 1/8 speed) and No Pedestrian Access networks created to help influence cims to take the water slides and lazy river as a form of public transport.

+ almost 50 additional assets including lifeguard props, signage, terraforming networks and a fresh water source.
Accessibility
These assets should be accessible to most players and skill levels, but are likely suited more to intermediate and experienced players who are comfortable with mods.

- Beginners should be able to follow the video or written guides and create some water slides and a lazy river in their Water Park. Basic knowledge of the mods used would helpful.

- Intermediate players should feel comfortable when using these assets and mods. I suggest creating a few slides first just to get used to the water slide networks and working with steep changes in elevation and tight curved segments.

- Experienced players with a strong knowledge of mods, PO and detailing may decide to create more custom builds. I have provided the flexibility and assets to create your own unique pools, slides and walkways/staircases.
Mods List
The following are recommended mods for Water Park 1 assets. Not all are technically dependencies, but without them, assets may not function correctly as shown in guide/video. I have ordered and rated each mod below out of 5, with 5 being the most important to use. But I suggest using all.

Some assets also require DLC's so please make sure you check dependencies on each asset pack.

*Assets list updated - 18th June

Network Anarchy - The pool networks (Quays) and Lazy River networks (Canals) are used in close proximity, and as such network anarchy is a required mod to plop some of the station assets.(5/5)

Move It - Not a dependency but used to edit heights of the slide networks, move nodes and segments etc.(5/5)

Traffic President (TM:PE) - Without this mod vehicles will travel at 60 kmph and disconnect from the track on curves and steep elevation changes. TM:PE will allow us to change the speed vehicles can travel on the water slides to 10 kmph, which will keep vehicles on the track.(5/5)

RON Network Replacer or Railway Replacer - Use RON to change the 'teal water slide network' used as default on slide and pool stations to an alternative color/style of Water Slides. Alternatively, can use Railway Replacer but double tracks will both change. (see section below for more information).(4/5)

Advanced Building Level Control - The Fresh Water Source asset requires a form of no abandonment like through this mod, otherwise it can occasionally flood itself and become a ruined building. Open ABLC settings and ensure NoAbandonment this is ticked.(4/5)

HideIt - The pool stations and lazy river canals use in-game water, due to its proximity to water, nearby grass unfortunately turns to a ruined look. To avoid this, turn off 'Shore Area' in HideIt.(3/5)

Intersection Marking Tool - Use this to add animated water to your Water Slides using ready-to-go presets(2/5)

Improved Public Transport 2 - Useful to choose your vehicle types (different types of cims) and add more vehicles to the line.Without this mod, there is likely going to be fewer cims appearing on your slide.(2/5)

First Person Camera v2.2.0 - Take a first person ride down your Water Slide! Also consider the HideUI mod for this.(2/5)

Loading screen Mod Revisited - To share textures between assets. (2/5)

Prop Anarchy or Prop Control - Needed to raise props off terrain(2/5)

Network Multitool and Node controller - Helpful for customising networks including adding nodes, removing nodes, parallel networks, and slopes.(1/5)

Repaint - A nice to have mod, will allow you to change the Slide Station building color to any color you want.(1/5)

BOB, The Tree and Prop Replacer - Change props on the Pool and Slide Station buildings which would normally be locked. For example, change the sun lounger prop easily to another sun lounger prop you prefer.(1/5)

Minimal Mods
As a minimum suggestion i'd recommend: Network Anarchy, Move It, Advanced Building Level Control, RON, Hide It and TM:PE. Without some mods, the assets may not behave as intended for reasons above.
Where to find the assets
I have created a unique sub-menu/tab in the Public Transport menu called Water Structures. All 'buildings' can be found in this new menu. Networks such as Water Slides will still be found in the train sub menu and Lazy River networks in the Ship sub menu. List below on locations.

Slide and Pool Stations - Transport > Water Structures
Lazy River Station and Depot - Transport > Water Structures
Slide networks - Transport > Train
Lazy River networks - Transport > Ship
Pool networks - Landscaping > Water Structures
Pedestrian Path / Terraforming Networks - Landscaping > Paths
Pedestrian Roads - Roads > Pedestrian Areas
Industrial Stairs and Props - Parks > Props
Water Slide and Lazy River vehicles - Vehicle selection menus

Water Slides - Functionality Explained
The Water Slide assets have been created using the in-game ‘train’ functionality. This will allow citizens to take the slides as a form of public transport.

- Water Slides have replaced Train Tracks.
- Water Slide stations and Pool stations have replaced train stations.
- Cims sliding down the slides have replaced train vehicles.

We will be setting the slides up (in theory) the same way as we would a train service, just with a few special assets and tricks to have them functioning correctly.

To learn more about Water Slides and the process to create them please see the Water Slides Guide https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2991240468
Lazy River - Functionality Explained
The Lazy River assets have been created using the in-game ‘ferry’ functionality. This will allow citizens to take the lazy river as a form of public transport.

- Lazy River network has replaced Canal Networks.
- Lazy River Stations have replaced Ferry Stops.
- Lazy River Depot has replaced Ferry Depot.
- Cims travelling on the Lazy River have replaced Ferry vehicles.

We will be setting the Lazy River up (in theory) in a similar way as we would a standard ferry service, just with a few special assets and tricks to have them functioning correctly.

To learn more about the Lazy River and the process to create them please see the Lazy River Guide.

Fresh Water Source - Functionality Explained
The Fresh Water Source is a new asset created to allow us to add in-game water to much smaller spaces than the existing water tool allows. It is both a water input (An invisible Water Tower) and a water output (An invisible Fresh Water Outlet) in one combined asset.

When placed in my Pool Station assets, or any ditch of sorts, it will fill the space up with water and remain at a consistent level and not overflow.

The asset requires a form of No Abandonment such as through Advanced Building Level Control, otherwise the building can flood itself and become ruined.

See more information including other ways we can use the 'Fresh Water Source' on its workshop page.

Pedestrian Paths/Roads - Functionality Explained
The pedestrian paths and roads have all been created to serve a purpose. There are 3 sets of pedestrian paths.

Sandstone Pedestrian Roads and Concrete Pedestrian Paths
These have both been created to help us influence citizens to want to take the Water Slides and Lazy River public transport. Networks include Slow Paths (1/4 and 1/8 speed), One-Way Paths and No Pedestrian Access Paths. For more information on how to do this, see video guide and Water Slide Guide. All credit to Colossal Order for the Sandstone Pedestrian Roads models, I just tweaked some settings to set up as needed.

Invisible Pedestrian Path and Guide
The invisible Pedestrian Path is used if you want citizens to walk perfectly up the Water Slide Station stairs and walkways on more custom builds. The invisible pedestrian path also has dual settings allowing you to render citizens invisible or visible whilst on the network. There is also a visible guide network to use before you switch the network to invisible for ease of use.

FAQ

Q: This is a lot of information, where do I start?
A: I would recommend watching my Video Guide on YouTube. It's the easiest way to learn about the assets, once you get it, it's easy, but there are a few steps to set them up. The video will help you better understand the assets, to learn how to use them, and for some tips and techniques on usage.

Q: How long have you been working on this?
A: I've probably been working on this over an 8 month period A LOT. Not full time, but a tonne of time spent during that period. Honestly, it's just taken that long to figure everything out and create it all properly! So I really hope you enjoy!

Q: Will this be coming to Cities Skylines 2?
A: Yes, I would love to bring Water Park 2 to CS2, and to make it even bigger and better than before!! Especially considering this pack will only be live a few months before CS2 is released yikes. But I have to consider this has almost been like a full time job to get this asset pack live. If you would like to see this come to CS2, please consider donating or supporting me on Patreon to help support development of Water Park 2.

Rev0 - A massive help throughout with questions or problems I was having. Asset creation involving trains and train stations was new territory for me, especially manipulating them so much, it really helped having an experienced creator i could pick the brain of (on numerous occasions). Thanks legend!

Bad Peanut - Once again another huge thanks to BP for some game changing suggestions to really take some assets to the next level and again for helping me figure out a few bugs i was unable to solve.

A huge thanks to everyone who kindly helped Beta test the asset pack prior to release and provided feedback - Teddy Radko, Samuel Cortes, Canadian Moose, Clus and DeaconPMP. Sam and Teddy also helped suggest and implement the animated water props using IMT! Thanks guys!

A massive thanks to the content creators who built a Water Park and shared the assets with their audience in the lead up to launch! Dirty H, Canadian Moose, Few Candy and Teddy Radko! All a bunch of legends! Please go check out their Water Park builds on YouTube and Twitch.

And a thanks to my NEW Patrons who have signed up during Early Access before the Steam Workshop launch - Robin Kijk In De Vegte, PinkahPandah, Mike Kruki! Cheers guys, means a lot!
