Description
This one's taken a while. I always loved this - entirely overpowered, completely bonkers - mod for WH2, and since Eevi disappeared and sm0kin hasn't made a move, I thought I'd take this one on. I haven't asked for permission, so if the original author asks for it to be taken down, I'll do so.

WARNING: This mod is pretty skill-point heavy. I'd strongly suggest getting a two or even three skill-points per level mod. It's still a bit of a work in progress, so I'll happily take onboard any points for improvement.

An overhaul that aims to substantially rework the game's spellcasting Legendary Lords.

Magic is something that has always been quite neglected by CA in the Total War: WARHAMMER franchise. Things got a little better in the second game but many of the game's most powerful magical lords feel like they're lacking a certain something to really make an impact on the battlefield. Some of the most famous wizards in the Warhammer fantasy lore end up with pitiful spell pools and magic that doesn't really pack a punch. My mod aims to change that by significantly overhauling the magic skill trees of several of the games Legendary Lord's in order to give them access firstly to more spells, but also to more powerful spellcasting in general.

So, this mod contains skill tree enhancement/replacement/upgrades for Lord Mazdamundi, Morathi, the Fay Enchantress, Heinrich Kemmler, and Balthasar Gelt. I've changed a few around, either to fit lore better or for personal preference. The spells they have always have some sort of improvement over the regular version, being more powerful, longer lasting, having additional effects, etcetera

Lord Mazdamundi gets a mix of spells from Light, Heavens, Fire, High, and one original spell. I swapped out Tempest for Net of Amyntok. He also gets one new ability, a massive boost to magic recharge.
Morathi gets a mix of Shadow, Death, Dark, and Slaanesh. Used to have Fire spells, they got swapped out for Slaanesh. She also gets a magic boost ability.
The Fay Enchantress gets a mix of Life, Light, Heavens, and Beasts. She also gets a selection of new abilities, that can buff other units or herself, and a debuff to enemies whilst she's casting.
Kemmler gets a mix of Vampires, Death, and Shadow.
Balthasar Gelt is still with Metal, but also gets a new set of Alchemical 'Spells'.
Malagor gets access to all of Beasts and Wild

Mazdamundi, Astragoth, the Fay Enchantress, Ariel, Kairos, Malagor, Balthasar, Khatep, Zhao Ming, Kemmler, N'kari, Teclis, Cylostra, Miao Ying, Katarin, Morathi, and Ku'gath all get a Cataclysm spell at level 25. I might expand this list, but there's already another mod that does something very similar to that, and I was hoping to restrict these to the most powerful wizard LLs of a faction. So maybe Mannfred could get one.

COMPATABILITY
This mod won't be compatible with any mod that alters spell lores.

It is NOT savegame compatible!

For modders, the only tables that I'm using a 'hard' copy of are special_ability_groups_to_unit_abilities_junctions_tables and special_ability_groups_to_units_junctions_tables I'm fairly certain this is necessary to achieve the mod's objectives but I'm always interested in ways to improve compatibility.

This mod is not compatible with my other spell overhauls since it does the same thing, just combined. That should be obvious but I bet someone is going to try and use it anyway and post in the comments complaning about how the mod is broken!

Any other skills not included in this mod that you see are from my skill mods or Lustria Rises.

Love the mod. Fey Enchantress' "Avatar of the Lady" ability seems to not be activating properly during combat. Anyone else able to reproduce this issue?

I assume it is intentional, but as it is not mentioned, I figured I would ask. Is Kemmler supposed to have a chance to miscast, even when he is not overcasting a spell?

Is it intended for Kemmlers Cataclysm spell to be a buff that puts a golden manticore above the character head that you cast it on? The tooltip in his talents describe it as some kind of damaging spell.

people gotta stop acting like gelt and kemmler are more powerful mages than the dragon children. like obviously they are comically powerful mages some of the strongest in history, but the dragon children are older than the elves lmao

or maybe its not? idk, important parts of gelts tree is missing for me. but dont have any other extra skill stuff that should be messing with it.

I think it bugs if you any mods that add extra skills. making parts of the skill tree not show up.

is there any mod which give us custom skills? like no buffs etc. I mean custom spells
