Drifters are Real - UWE, and more!

In 1 collection by Dr. Igor Dolvich
Lore Friendly Role-Playing Experience v1.9.7.2.1 (2025)
462 items
Description
A small patch for UWE (and Vanilla) Drifters, which unlocks the relationship for "Drifters".

By default, UWE (and other mods that change Drifters in some way), can cause the Drifters reputation tab to disappear and become inactive (essentially 0 relationship forever). Now, you'll need to be more careful of robbing endless Drifters in the Desert. Or, you can become legendary, a folk talk amongst the Drifters.

Recommend companion mods:
  • Improve Relationship by Healing - Improve your relationship with any faction (random RNG chance) by healing them after battles. (You need a medkit and repair kit in your inventory for it to work)

  • Companion Quest: A Drifter's Story... mod by me, it further elaborates on the themes posed by this mod!

  • Wandering Rival - (Inspiration for this mod) A wandering, very strong, Hive Prince "Rival". A sort of recurring character who duels you and improves your relationships with Drifters (or lowers your relationship if you flee from their duel).

  • Strategic Ambiguity - Unlocks cross relationships for all factions. Enables you to have positive relationships with "rivaling" factions simultaneously, ie. Holy Nation and Shek at the same time. Complete multiple faction questlines and be a double agent.

Should work even without UWE, as it changes only a handful of lines in FCS. UWE required just for UWE specific factions, can work in Vanilla as well (you'll get a "Missing Mod" error, which can be safely ignored). Compatible with every mod, unless they change those specific values.

Place it towards the bottom of your load order, after UWE, to take affect.

They do not currently, but you can slowly restore your rep with them by using the various mods I linked in the description. I could possibly create a pacifier in the future as well.

Do drifters have the pacifier?

I'll check out the other mod when I get a chance and see if I can try to make it how you described :cactusrum:

No problem, if I ever get a chance to play around with that mod, I'll give it a try to mess with it in FCS / in-game editor.

I just made a patch for a similar mod called Wandering Medics which serves as a "roaming surgeons" faction. No bases, just little randomized camps that appear from time to time.

If I may, maybe it is not up to you ofc, but there's a really cool mod called "Guild of surgeons". I know it's not your job, but that mod needs a bit more UWE integration. Town of Hope is almost empty when it comes to general traders, lots of containers are open and has no loot in them whatsoever. Not many guards, compared to UWE and it's easy to steal if there is something. Wish that shopkeepers had more stuff to sell, even bartenders has like only few basic items. Mod itself is really cool, just hoping that it gets a small "update" kinda.

Will do. Cheers!

Nice, I haven't had much time to test it in depth, but glad to see it's working as intended. I think the balance "looks" right in terms of who they are currently allied/co-exist with.

Let me know if there's any issues or if you have any other mod suggestions :2017stickycrab:
