VF's Industrial Economics

Description
Proudly adds 21 policies, 17 Sim Values (wow!) and 27 situations!

An overhaul to Economics in general, mainly Industry-related, but with a little bit in every sector! Very well integrated with vanilla and officially released!

Everything has been linked so this mod's changes don't work as appendages in Democracy 4 but everything is affected by pretty much everything possible in base game, and vice-versa.

The guiding principles of this mod are Say's Law in Market Theory, Dependence Theory on Economic Theory and Decompression/Neocon Thought in Political Theory. I love this game but I grew unsatisfied with how shallow industry overall is represented as and how, in the end, pretty much the best way to create an utopia a hyperinternationalized, high tech, high tax and high productivity scenario.

I plan to add more situations and more policies to this mod in the future; aswell as creating actual custom icons rather than (cleverly) recycling vanilla ones and, maybe, create new mods that overhaul other aspects of the game, like security.

Anywho, that's it. Here's the list for everything this adds. Feel free to comment if you'd like something to link up to something else or just suggest a new policy/value/situation, or just anything really. Hope you enjoy it!

Hello, does this mod works with other mods like "D4 Overhaul & Expansion" or "Democracy 4+"? Thanks a lot.

Honestly greatest mod in the workshop next to the big D4 Overhaul. Do you have any plans to get back to it and expand it further? Perhaps more tax related stuff that meshes with everything?

Hey @Amsey07! I'm a History student in Brazil and a lot of inspiration came when I was reading Guido Mantega's "Economia Política Brasileira" (Brazilian Economic Politics) in my Economic History class. It's a fantastic compendium of theory and historical policy from an economist that would become a developmentalism finance minister over here. This is mostly for the capital flows and the IDL mechanics, which are very central to the mod; and for these I drew also from Gunther Frank's Capitalism and Underdevelopment in Latin America. I'm very interested in the field of study of industrial economics and picked up various sources over the years to build into what basically grew into my worldview but I'd say these two books are what the mod orbits around.

I'm a political science and economics student and I find this mod utterly fascinating, with the mods content getting at alot of somewhat hinted at concepts and themes that are not fully elucidated by most popular as well as academic economists. I think the authors take on the IDL, capital flows, "real vs illusory economic activity and their determinants" as expressed through the crafted situations is a really cool (and fairly reflective of reality), and has served me once or twice in real world conversations as a frame of mind to think through. Mod author, if you're out there, tell me some of your detailed academic inspiration for this mod, I would love to pick your brain.

I still love this mod.
• I think the Mars Program should affect the tech industry like the Space Program does
• Rare Earth Extraction should assist the Extraction Industry
• Climate Warning System also ought to bump the Tech Industry
• I'd love to see this mod fix the Luddite Riots because the devs won't.
