Description
City States Build Wonders
Allows City States (aka Minor Civilizations) to build World Wonders and National Wonders. Losing wonder races has never been so much fun!

This mod is vanilla-friendly and does not require G&K, BNW or any other DLC.

Mod details:
  • City States (aka Minor Civilizations) will now build World Wonders and National Wonders. They will now compete in Wonder Races with major civilizations as well as other minor civs.

  • City States have a low Wonder Flavor of 3. This is equivalent to Askia's Songhai[civilization.fandom.com], one of the lowest in the game.

  • City States will NOT build Projects (e.g Manhattan Project, Apollo Program, World Congress projects), as they function on a different system.

  • If playing with Gaia's Core Mod, City States will NOT build Corporations, as they function on a different system.



FAQ:
Q: Do they actually build Wonders?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I actually lose a Wonder race to City States?
A: Yes. You'll be notified by the game's notifications as usual if it happens.
Q: Will this mod cause bugs, crashes, unusual behavior, alien invasions etc on my save?
A: No (probably, hopefully).
If you don't have some of the compatible mods installed (e.g Centauri City States) you will get an "Invalid Reference" error in the game's logs. These are completely harmless and can be ignored.
Q: Do City States get the usual buffs from the Wonders they build?
A: Yes.
Q: What happens if a City State has a quest to build a Wonder and another CS beats me to it?
A: You will fail the quest as usual.
Q: City States almost never build Wonders in my game. Can I make this happen more often?
A: Yes. It's a simple matter of editing flavors in the mod's sttdCityStatesBuildWondersFlavors.xml XML file, as well as the compatibility files for other mods (e.g sttdFCSCityStatesBuildWondersFlavors.xml).

You can replace my chosen value of 3 to as high as 12. For comparison, Ramesses II's Egypt[civilization.fandom.com] has a Wonder Flavor of 10.

If I make a couple suggestions, you should make the city state that build said wonder give them a special bonus that affects their allies and friends for example, the great library give their allies an income of 1 science and their friends with .5 science.

Second, the public works task where you get more influence when you donate money will mean that the city state is building a wonder and gold donated will be converted into production.

Finally, their should be 5 wonders that can only be built by the city state type. For Mercantile city states, they should have access to the "Silk Road" which gives them Jewerly, Porcelain, and all city state resources if there are any others.

@4_bit_forever Which mod are you speaking of, can you give me a link to check it out? Because it depends on how the mod is implemented:

If it replaces the existing Wonders with a whole new Building and Building Class it will not be compatible. If it updates the existing Wonders (replacing MaxGlobalInstances with MaxPlayerInstances) then it is definitely compatible. Well, in theory at least :cta_emo6:
