Drill Sergeant lets you set the training speed of your soldiers as you like.

Quick Mod Info

This mod features:

two different training methods with finetune options
a brand new sector operation to slowly gain wisdom by reading a book
an option to make the skill learnig cuve harder
an option to increase natural skill gain in combat
an option to increase skill gain from reading skill books
an option to give bonus level XP on sector operations and combat skill gain

Go to Options -> Mod-Settings and select the training settings as you prefer.

Detailed Mod Info

The following options are available:

Selected Training Method:
- Method 1 (Speed):
  Switch to Speed training method. (See "Method 1: Training Speed" setting)
- Method 2 (Wisdom):
  Dynamic training speed depending on student merc's wisdom. Smart mercs train faster and dumb mercs train slower.
  (See "Method 2: Wisdom Impact" setting)
Method 1: Training Speed:
Select training speed from x0.75 / x0.5 / normal / x2 / x5 / x10 as you like.
Only effective if "Method 1 (Speed)" is selected.
Method 2: Wisdom Impact:
Select the impact that the merc's wisdom stat should have on the training speed.
Only effective if "Method 2 (wisdom)" is selected.

You can see from this table how fast a merc's training speed is, based on his wisdom.
The harder you set the widsom impact setting the slower the overall training will be and "stupid" mercs will have a much bigger training penalty.

Harder Training XP Curve:
Activating this option makes training harder for mercs, the higher the mercs stat get.
If the student merc's to be trained skill reaches a certain amount, he gets less EXP during the sector training operation
skill 0 - 29 = 50% EXP required to level up
skill 30 - 49 = 75% EXP required to level up
skill 50 - 69 = 100% EXP required to level up
skill 70 - 89 = 150% EXP required to level up
skill 90 - 100 = 200% EXP required to level up
This option works in combination with all other settings.
Natural Skills Gain:
Select how many skill points should be naturaly gained during combat, exploration, ect. (+1 / +2 / +3 / +4 / +5)
This option works in combination with all other settings.
Book Skills Gain:
Select how many skill points should be gained from reading skill books. (+1 / +2 / +3 / +4 / +5)
This option works in combination with all other settings.
Bonus level XP:
Select how much XP % of the current merc level should be given to the merc on completing sector operations (training, reading books, repairing ect.) Also applies when a merc gets a stat during combat.
e.g. with 10% enabled, a merc would get a level up after completing 10 different sector operations or gaining a stat 10 times in combat.
Available options are (0% - 10%)
This option works in combination with all other settings.

UPDATE:
I've added a new setting for the Wisdom training method.
You can now adjust how much impact the mercs wisdom should have on his training speed.
Please take a look in the table in the description to see which option fits your playstyle best.

This mod can be activated and deactivated mid game.
You do not need to start a new playthrough.

Every option in this mod is optional. You can even set every option on default and have the identical vanilla experience or tweak only the setting that you would like to have in your playthrough.

Yea can confirm latest update broke mod sadly. no longer allows me to gain + 4 with book or per skill XP. Look forward to the update for the mod and i hope its an easy fix. also Happy Thanks giving love this mod.
