Faction Standing Tweaks

Description
New with 1.1: Option to disable negative faction standing penalties.

Alters the Faction Standing gameplay mechanics. 1) Symmetric rewards/penalties based on mission difficulty for procedural missions. No more +2/-8! 2) Standings erode over time. 3) Ability to cap positive/negative standings. 4) Federated Commonwealth standing is set to the average of Davion/Steiner at merge. 5) Bonus for unused negotiation points.

how do i bump the standing to be +3/-2?

that's fine, but... if I have to change the settings in the file, then the instructions in the file should actually say what the default is instead of a number. the tooltip starts with describing linear, which is what looks like option 2, but is in fact registered as #1. using the tooltip as the only evidence other than testing, it reads as linear being option 2.

Regardless, without actually knowing through testing, how are we to know that disable is registered as 0? Yes, its logical, but we don't know that is what you are doing without testing it out. The biggest gripe is because of this, I thought that the mod was just broken or perhaps interacting funny with other mods.

Tldr: If it isn't incredibly inconvenient, please define stuff properly.

That's pretty much how numeric iterated lists (arrays and such) work under the covers. The initial element is addressed as zero and the final is count - 1.

so one thing I don't think is intended is that the options seem to go in order from 0 to 3 instead of 1 to 4. So instead of option 1 being disable, it's instead linear. although it might be less of a problem if I could get the gui for the mod menu to work in-game.

Can you please do a variation where there is no rep penalty for running low difficulty missions i.e. proc generated missions give +8/-8 if you run them with an over level company.

I try this just because of the negative Faction gains. I was fine with choosing missions carefully, so i can cap some factions. But playing any campaing, like Dragons gambit will hit your Steiner Faction badly. I really dislike this. So - thanks for this mod.

Set CapNegative to 1 and the negative faction standing will not accrue below -1. There will still be a hit for a mission when the standing is positive, but at least you won't go deep into the negative overall.
