that's fine, but... if I have to change the settings in the file, then the instructions in the file should actually say what the default is instead of a number. the tooltip starts with describing linear, which is what looks like option 2, but is in fact registered as #1. using the tooltip as the only evidence other than testing, it reads as linear being option 2.

Regardless, without actually knowing through testing, how are we to know that disable is registered as 0? Yes, its logical, but we don't know that is what you are doing without testing it out. The biggest gripe is because of this, I thought that the mod was just broken or perhaps interacting funny with other mods.

Tldr: If it isn't incredibly inconvenient, please define stuff properly.

That's pretty much how numeric iterated lists (arrays and such) work under the covers. The initial element is addressed as zero and the final is count - 1.

so one thing I don't think is intended is that the options seem to go in order from 0 to 3 instead of 1 to 4. So instead of option 1 being disable, it's instead linear. although it might be less of a problem if I could get the gui for the mod menu to work in-game.

Can you please do a variation where there is no rep penalty for running low difficulty missions i.e. proc generated missions give +8/-8 if you run them with an over level company.

I try this just because of the negative Faction gains. I was fine with choosing missions carefully, so i can cap some factions. But playing any campaing, like Dragons gambit will hit your Steiner Faction badly. I really dislike this. So - thanks for this mod.

Set CapNegative to 1 and the negative faction standing will not accrue below -1. There will still be a hit for a mission when the standing is positive, but at least you won't go deep into the negative overall.

i kinda wanted a mod that disables negative standing gain entirely. you're a mercenary, you go wherever the money is, they shouldnt take it personally.

I don't own a Steam Deck so not sure what problems there might be with it. For starters, double check that it is installed properly and enabled in the mod menu. If so, and if you are running ModOptions, try setting the faction standing caps to 1 (CapPositive) and -1 (CapNegativeand) just as a test to see if it alters the values in-game.

If you are referring to not being able to see configuration settings through Mod Options, then it's possible the mod did not install correctly or it's not enabled.

Not sure if this is because I tried using this in an existing save, but nothing seemed to change. There wasn't any difference in the standing gains/losses, and the option to use negotiation points to change reputation wasn't available.

The current version was tested with TDG DLC patch. I haven't tried it with the one that just came out, but I don't think there'd be issues based on what was changed. This no longer touches the mission generation process so I can't see how it would cause the problem you observe.

What you describe with the difficulty 1 mission sounds like a bug I've heard others mention. It's in Marik space if I recall and if you actually try to do the mission the evac point never spawns (or something like that).

Is this working with the current patch? I had some oddities, where the missions showing in a nearby system were not the same when I traveled there, and in fact one included a difficulty 1 that said mission type campaign (not to mention I could hire pilots and it was a conflict zone) - this may not be the mod, but I tried to run it even though it said out of date, and it's the only mod I have

you just added the one thing I was wanting for faction standings, the ability to use negotiation points for faction reputation.

I'm planning on maintaining it at least through the next DLC/patch. Unless something drastically changes under the hood I don't think it will be difficult to update.

If you are using Mod Options, it will be accessible within the Options menu of the game. If not, they can be found and hand edited in your Game.ini file.

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\MW5Mercs\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Game.ini

However, this path could vary If your profile is not at the default location. Also, I think the AppData folder might be hidden by default if you are trying to browse for it.

Try running this command:

notepad.exe "%LocalAppData%\MW5Mercs\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Game.ini"

Have only had it work once for me, but im using a bunch of other mods - recon the incompatibility is with Coyotes Mission Pack.
