1942 год, Советский Союз находится в запеклой войне с Германией. Где-то в глубинах секретного научного города в Сибири, идут работы по разработке тайного проекта, о котором знают только самые высокопоставленные ученые и военные командиры. Цель проекта - найти новые средства борьбы с врагом, оживляя мертвых солдат.

Используя последние достижения в области медицины, генетики и неврологии, ученые приступили к экспериментам с клетками и тканями погибших бойцов. Вскоре они смогли разработать специальный сыворотку, способную восстановить функции организма и оживить мертвую ткань. Но работа с декомпозированными тканями, привела к непредсказуемым результатам.

Вскоре после первых экспериментов произошел инцидент. Одно из испытательных животных, оживленное с помощью сыворотки, стало агрессивным, неуправляемым и начало атаковать ученых. Оказалось, что под действием сыворотки, мозговая деятельность оживших организмов находится в состоянии хаоса.

Быстро осознав, что они создали мощное оружие, но потеряли контроль над ним, ученые попытались уничтожить свои разработки и остановить проект. Однако, их попытки провалились - зараза воздействия сыворотки уже проникла в ткани ученых, приводя их к постепенному превращению в зомби.

Ситуация была катастрофической. Зомби-лаборанты начали атаковать других жителей закрытого города: ученых, военных, гражданских. Живые оказались перед страшным выбором - сражаться со своими коллегами и близкими, или погибнуть под ударами неуправляемых оборотней.
