This mod is a submod for Red World ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2166453693 ), primarily depicting a world where the Soviet Union won the Cold War. All credit goes to the late original author of Red World, Kaiser1871.

Features: Compared to original Red World, this mod introduces a GDP system and updates the national content for China, Japan, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Benin, France, Poland, and the Netherlands. It also adds some flavor events and partial framework content for Korea.

Historical Setting:
Soviet Section
• In the Cold War history of the red world, no de-Stalinization occurred after Stalin's death (though this does not mean the USSR remained a Stalinist regime). The Soviet Union did not prioritize military expansion, and events like the Prague Spring or the suppression of Poland and Hungary never happened. Georgy Malenkov became Stalin's successor and revitalized the Soviet economy and technology during his tenure. Under a policy combining authoritarianism and welfare, the USSR maintained stability. After Malenkov's death in 1988, Grigory Romanov rose to power, under whom the Soviet Union began its decline. Following Romanov's death in 1993, military leader Dmitry Yazov became the new Chairman. By the game's start, Yazov's government was already plagued by numerous crises.

European Section
• Eastern Bloc nations maintained political stability during the Cold War in this timeline. Greece and Portugal underwent revolutions in 1973 and 1974, respectively, transitioning to socialism—though they were not Soviet-aligned. Spain's democratization did not succeed as in OTL; facing U.S. interference over fears of a PSOE victory, King Juan Carlos I dissolved parliament in 1976 and solidified his rule as an absolute monarch.

By the mid-1980s, economic crises pushed Western European nations toward communism. The West German and Austrian Communist Parties rose to power in the 1980s, leading to their eventual integration into the German Democratic Republic. Italy’s Communist Party formed a coalition with the Christian Democrats (the "Historic Compromise"), gradually transitioning into a communist state. The Dutch Communist Party, upon election, established a moderate communist government that retained opposition parties and non-state-controlled trade unions, creating a cooperative system. These two nations became the wealthiest and most moderate within the Warsaw Pact.

The PCF absorbed the PSF, becoming France's ruling party. However, radical nationalization and economic mismanagement left France far behind its Western European allies. Though the tyrannical Maxim Gremetz was ousted by the more moderate Jean-Luc Mélenchon, France still experienced the largest-scale unrest in the Warsaw Pact. Belgium, after two failed coups in 1985 and 1986, veered toward the most brutal regime in Western Europe. Meanwhile, Norway, Finland, and Denmark embraced democratic revolutionary socialism, though relations with the USSR remained strained.

After the Cold War, Hungary’s reforms succeeded, making it Eastern Europe’s most prosperous and liberal nation. Bulgaria emerged as a leader in automation and electronics, though the Panov government became synonymous with brutality. In Albania, Hoxha’s widow continued to influence politics, while reformist Ramiz Alia died prematurely. Despite industrialization, living standards remained abysmal. Romania suffered economic collapse and severe factional infighting within the Party. Poland, neglected by the USSR, was ruled by General Jaruzelski and his deputy Kiszczak from 1993 to 1998 before civilian governance was restored.

The newly formed European Union of Socialist Republics symbolized European unity and resistance to Soviet influence. Switzerland and Sweden retained capitalism but maintained strong ties with the EUSR. The UK stood as Europe’s last democratic stronghold.

North American Section
Faced with rising communism and economic turmoil, Ronald Reagan dissolved the United States, granting independence to all 50 states to preserve democracy’s last dignity. However, opportunists and idealists defied his orders: George H.W. Bush and his nationalist followers proclaimed the American Republic in Atlanta, claiming to be the true successor to the U.S. The same year, the People’s Commonwealth formed, while the Great Lakes states established the Great Lakes Confederation in 1994 (later reorganized as a republic in the 21st century). Canada secured Alaska, becoming the last democratic bastion.

In Montana, the democratic government was overthrown by fascists, while the western half was seized by white supremacist Richard Spencer’s Union of Lincoln. The two regimes turned Montana into a new hub for North American drug trafficking.

Latin American Section
Mexico’s PRI attempted to boost its popularity by invading Texas but failed, leading to its decline. However, Mexico escaped its historical fate, emerging as an economically stable nation with minimal drug-related issues. Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega spearheaded the unification of Central America. After French Guiana’s independence and communist revolutions in Guyana and Suriname, the three nations merged into the Guyana Union.

Many South American nations adopted varying forms of socialism, though most regimes were short-lived: Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay’s socialist governments were eventually overthrown. Chile’s Augusto Pinochet staged a coup but triggered a multinational invasion that restored socialism. Paraguay, by 2010 (the game’s start), faced its first free national elections. Post-Bolivarian Revolution Venezuela gained control over the Antilles.

East Asian Section
In East Asia, Kim Il-sung successfully unified the Korean Peninsula in 1952, and its economy never collapsed. After the U.S. dissolved, Taiwan’s authorities took command of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, while the Chiang dynasty retained power in Taipei. Japan became the capitalist world’s strongest nation. In PRC, which broke from the USSR, the Cultural Revolution persisted until 2007, with famine and collapse devastating the country.

In Southeast Asia, Sarawak’s communists achieved independence. Vietnam implemented reforms, while Hun Sen’s Cambodian People’s Republic survived, gradually shedding Vietnamese influence and joining the CONEFO—a coalition of Chinese and Indonesian interests.

Middle Eastern Section
Turkey’s intervention in Cyprus failed, and the Kurds gained independence. With U.S. influence waning, external pressures forced Jews and Arabs to establish the Confederation of Israel-Palestine, which later became a democratic beacon in the Middle East. The UAE turned communist, while the UAR never dissolved.

Key Differences from the Red World Fan Fork's Setting:
• The Benin-Nigeria border follows the old RW version (Niger River as boundary), and the West African Economic Community collapsed due to Nigeria-Benin conflicts.
• French leader Mélenchon adheres to moderate socialism, though France remains a dysfunctional state in Western Europe.
• Poland’s modsoc leader, Miller, now belongs to the PZPR.
• Wan E'xiang remains in the Communist Party of China instead of independently forming a Maoist party.

@Jonnyo91 The issue has been fixed. Utah was caused by a bug. However, based on testing, there is no problem with the APC. Could it be that you didn't have New England?

so i can't reunify america because it says i haven't integrated Utah and APC territories but i clearly did is there a work around?

@donald.grape According to RW's official development plan, Moldova will be given the option to declare independence from Russia following the Soviet Union's collapse in future USSR-themed updates. This feature simply hasn't been implemented yet as post-Soviet content is still under development by RWFF dev team.

Troll alert below. A lot of new content has been added. Question to developers - why won't you add Moldova as a releasable when USSR ends?

Due to a map error, Namibia was incorrectly shown in the location of the UAE, and the territorial layout of the United States was also different from that in RWFF , which was a result of the previous update. The subsequent issue was caused by a clicking mistake.
(I've had limited time to use the computer recently, so I try to fix and test any bugs I find as soon as possible and then update the software. That's why there have been frequent updates today.)
