groovalizer steep | experience your fav skin as a fast visualizer



groovalizer steep is the faster hands-off way to experience your music and skin collection. This is the steep version of the groovalizer mod and is mostly identical. The groovalizer family improves upon dylan's visualizer mod by addressing several issues.

Improvements | groovalizer steep versus the stock visualizer
  • The "mirrored clones" screen layout is simplified & revised
    • The apparent octet layout is reduced to an apparent quad layout, which creates a more natural draw for your eyes to focus on the middle of the screen.
    • Accordingly, the major regions of interest created by the skin are now centralized & larger, instead of being duplicated four times in the four corners with each shrunken copy fighting for your attention.
    • Also accordingly, the giant boring strobe region in the center of the screen is gone. Block collection flashes are now aligned to the edges of the screen, where your peripheral vision is much better at handling them.
  • Autopilot strafe speed matches song intensity
    • No more rapid, jerky strafing ruining the mood of the slow & quiet parts in your music. The autopilot moves at a speed proportional to the current intensity of the song.
    • Additionally, the duration autopilot waits to re-engage after human input also now matches the current intensity.
  • More visible track = more eye candy
    • The upcoming track, the traffic on it, and the background behind it are easier to see, due to an adjusted camera that responds to the current intensity of the music. This results in more of the skin's details making it into the visualizer effect.
  • Optimized track generation parameters & track intensity response
    • No longer a slapdash copy-paste of mono's code. Modified parameters have been tuned to coordinate with the camera & autopilot to squeeze out more visuals from your chosen song and skin.

groovalizer steep changes | compared to standard groovalizer
  • Faster, mostly downhill tracks
    • Heavier track generation parameters guarantee that the strongest parts of the music will be downhill, bringing out the full-throttle colors and effects of your chosen skin.
    • Use groovalizer steep on songs that have too much uphill under standard groovalizer.
  • Loops, corkscrews, and caterpillars
    • Standard groovalizer omits these effects, but groovalizer steep includes all of them! Enjoy flashy spike caterpillars, breakdown loops, and beat drop corkscrews during the biggest transitions of your song.



Suggestions | for the best experience
  • groovalizer steep is intended for music which has too much uphill track under standard groovalizer. Use groovalizer steep to guarantee that the strongest parts of the song will be downhill.
  • Songs with a moderate A theme and a strong B theme work best with groovalizer steep. See the demo video in the media carousel at the top for an example.
  • For the greatest visual feast, be sure to pair groovalizer steep with a tasteful, colorful, and detailed skin.
