Description
Robo-Dummies

Robo-Dummies is a small testing mod which introduces special target dummies; the robo-dummies.
Like many other mods' improved target dummies, robo-dummies are identified as chasable NPCs by the game, allowing you test minions and various effects such as homing and on-hit procs.

Furthermore, Robo-Dummies expands upon the standard 'super dummy' by offering two different types of dummy; Grounded and Hovering;
  • Grounded robo-dummies behave like your standard target dummy.
  • Hovering robo-dummies can be placed in mid-air (or in tiles) and will float. If displaced, they'll drift back to its starting/spawn location!
In addition to these two variants, robo-dummies are also able to be spawned with defense and/or the ability to take knockback. By default, robo-dummies have 0 defense and full knockback immunity, like most target dummies.
Furthermore, the amount of defense/knockback can be freely adjusted via. config settings. You can also adjust or disable random damage variation for precision DPS testing.

Since this mod is intended for testing purposes only, the item used to spawn robo-dummies - the Robo-Dummy Remote - is intentionally unobtainable. However, it can be made accessible via. the config, in which case it is sold by the Goblin Tinkerer.
You'll have to use a cheat/test mod like Cheat Sheet, HERO's, Dragonlens, etc. to get the Remote.

Finally, big shoutout to Boaphil, whose Super Dummy mod provided the foundational code that made this mod possible!
This mod is NOT open-source since it is based off of Boaphil's mod, which has no open-source license. If you're interested in source-code, you can find Boaphil's Super Dummy mod on GitHub, linked in that mod's description.

Happy testing!

this mod is almost perfect for testing dps tho I think there should be an option to display damage with debuffs into count (such as on fire or frostbrun) this would show an exact ammount of dps which would be very good

I had wanted to use yours because it seemed more convenient and with more features, but some other mods also have dummies included even though its not even the main purpose of those mods.

perhaps its one of the other mods i use then as some of them also spawn dummies in, oh well :(

@Ivy, that's bizzare. There's nothing in the Robo-Dummies' code that causes them to spontaneously despawn (aside from the Robo-Dummy Remote's right click)...
My best guess is that it's some sort of compatibility issue, maybe try disabling mods one by one and see if anything helps? I know it's tedious but it's the only course of action I can think of...

I didn't have a boss active, and i tried both right and left clicking

The issue could also have something to do with the right-click function of the remote despawning the dummies.

@Ivy, in older versions of the mod the dummies auto-despawned when a boss was active to prevent cheesing on-hit effects (Ex: spamming Horseman's Blade), but this mechanic has been removed. If you're trying to spawn them with a boss active maybe your copy of the mod is outdated somehow?

For some reason when I spawn the dummy it doesn't actually place and instantly disappears..
