Pets! by Mafe (Read description!)

Description
Hello once again. After lots of work, I made another mod which brings lots of content to the game, including repeteable one and new friends that wont exactly obey you orders, but that will succed at charming you heart: This is the Pets mod!

What does this mod do?

This mod is centered all arround its new mechanic: Pets. In short, after you understand how "tracking" wild monsters work, you will be able to visit a Monster Nest, which inside contains Eggs Monster. After you hatch them, a random monster will be born that you have the option to add as a member of you fleet! However, unlike any other actor you have recruited, Pets are special: First of all, they have mind of they own! In combat, even when they are part of you crew, they will behave on they own and you wont be able to control them (or maybe there is a way to control those...?). They have an unique progression system, and can only use 6 special and unique classes made for them. They are immune to XP, and this unique "leveling" system they have automatically raises they stats as it increases by winning battles or eating certain items.

How much content does this mod have?

As it stands right now, the mod adds the following: 1 new Port centered completly on the Pets mechanic (which its own new food and trade item), 3 repeteable dungeons (1 of them being centered on endgame), 7 new classes (6 for you Pets, and 1 that the player can unlock centered in monster tracking), 4 new plants that the player can cultivate to sow later, several new items, and most importantly... 27 new recruiteable Pets among several of the foes you have slained in the base game!

How I can get started on the mod?

On the most basic level, mixing a Sea Coal with a Wood Plank will give you the most basic of tracking tools, but its largely inneffective. If you wish to understand all the new mechanics more in depth, I recommend first reaching Port Favaloro, located at 20N, 64W. The habitants of this very alive Port will be more than ready to help you with you struggles about Nest tracking!

Important section: Unfixeable issues or confusing stuff to clarify
-- If you dont like the classes system, there is a built in item to disable it. Mix a Paintberry with Iron and feed you Pets with it, this will make them unable to use any of the class skills of any of they 6 classes.
-- You will see a "required amount: Pet level! 0" tooltip on classes. Ignore it, as its the mechanic I had to add for Pets to be unable to pick any other class that isnt any of the six I made.
-- Tied to the one above, I beg you... DONT GIVE THE PETS ANY CLASS THAT ISNT THE 6 ONES I MADE, EITHER VANILLA WITH CHEATING THE RESTRICTION OR MODDED ONES, and I am not joking: The classes are deeply built and balanced to work with Pets themselfs, and the reason this whole system exists is due to certain anims that humanoids use which lead to the game to softblock when used by non-humanoid actors, so I made 6 very complete classes for them. I am not responsible for you game softlocking if you decided to give a Pet a modded class or cheated Vanilla one trought build mode.
-- For some reason Pet stats outside of combat are shown wrongly, or better said, they dont show at all: Dont worry, as soon you start combat those will normalize so you wont loose any power on them.
-- Large Monsters and Normal ones have they own Nests each one, located at 0S, 158W and 166N, 149E. Each one requires the track of they respective monster category, and for being able to track Large monsters, you will have to first track up several small ones before.

Hello Jo. No, you arent supposed to just straight kill them, all the oppositte actually. After you paint a mob, they have a chance to leave behind a track at the end of they turn. The chance for this to happen depends on which item you used to Paint them (Chalkballs have less chance than Paintballs, for example) and also increases based on how many negative status effects the mob has, but if they have positive morale the chance decreases. Each mob can only produce 1 Track, and you can interact with those for you party to gain a bit of XP and to increase you Tracks meter by 1 while also leveling an invisible stat that allows you to have an easier time on future Painting. There is an in-game tutorial at Port Favaloro btw, but those are the basics of it. Large monsters (King Heatle, Bloodweavers, etc) require more skill to be painted and are harder to paint.

Hello Mafe, I'm confused about what to do after you paint a creature, am I supposed to just kill them? (Nothing happens when i do, and I can't seem to get them to run away)

Answered you on the modding Discord but gonna leave this here just in case: Yeah, as long anyone changes the mod balance I dont mind, since I would like to handle the Pets balance myself. I am okay with content addons (like new Pets) but I will have to writte a guide for this on a future update, once I have a bit of free time.

This is neato. I think I'm gonna make a companion thing for this- one that polishes it up a fair bit and adds some new stuff. Is this something you're okay with or would you rather I didn't?
