Lore
"When the frost spirit saw he had lost the love of the princess, he rose up in great fury to destroy her. But Dazh was swifter and cut the spirit down with his blade and threw his body onto the earth. But the frost spirit was not dead. Lost in a terrible rage, he sought to destroy all the children of Dazh. We have lost many sons to his claws, and we will lose more." —Baba Olna

In the cities, the Frostfiend is thought to be mythical, appearing as it so often does in tales as the chief enemy of Dazh. But they are very real. Luckily, they make their home in the snows of the far north—and some scholars believe they are a part of those snows, as the Treemen of Athel Loren are with their forest. Due to their white fur, these bat-winged monstrosities are invisible amongst the blizzards in which they fly. Thankfully, they tend to shriek with bloodlust when their heat-sensitive eyes detect their next meal. This warning has saved many from being eviscerated by their razor-sharp claws, but many others remain rooted to the spot, for to face a Frostfiend is to face the terrifying fury of the blizzard itself. Few who survive such an attack ever go north again.

—Excerpts from Warhammer Fantasy RPG 2nd ED -- Realm of the Ice Queen

Heat Vision
The UI for this ability is misleading so I'll clarify how it works here.
It's a passive that reveals hidden enemies across a wide area while the frostfiend is flying. Though the UI reads as though its going to confer stalk, unspottable & Hide in Forest to enemies, it actually temporarily removes these attributes from enemies that already have them.

Ostankya
I don't own the DLC so I couldn't test with Ostankya. Let me know if there's any issues in particular with her.
I'm aware she can summon an army of spirit monsters I plan to try and add frostfiends to that in future

Buy me a coffee
But only if you really want to.

I started a Ko-fi page after seeing other modders had them. I'm trying something new where I use the page as a blog where I post pics of work in progress.

If anti-infantry, then definitively it should have The Hunger for more staying power and Aura of Chill to not let infantry escape so easy.
And that sonic roar hex? Even better to eliminate infantry as it, combined with the Aura of Chill, could essentially slow down infantry to a crawl, leaving them as easy prey.

Thanks for the feedback. The frostfiend is balanced around being a t3 anti infantry monster, like a manticore or feral wyvern. It disrupts infantry and causes terror. It's not supposed to be able to solo heroes, lords or other single entity monsters. It should lose in those situations. However I do plan to revisit this unit in future and will keep your ideas for abilities in mind.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Frostfiend seems kinda underpowered in terms of survivability? Last time I used it, a Sorcerer of Tzeentch was overpowering it in melee (sure, he was using spells, but even that shouldn't affect the fight that much).
I propose the following:
1. Buff it up to Tier IV.
2. Add three additional things to it to make it a tad better: The Hunger, Aura of Chill and a custom Hex skill that would further slow down and debuff enemies. A sort of sonic roar that would fit in-line with its lore since the Frostfiend, while diving down to hunt down their prey, unleash a terrible roar that would freeze the blood in a person's veins from the sheer terror it causes.

But those are just suggestions. It's your mod dude.
