Exactly, passive supply requires direct connection, without intermediaries.

Yes, but i won't do it because it looks bad in the game. You can use road connection (from mod), bridge or tunnel (this already located in game).

Possible to do a pedestrian path crossing? The industry connections often block routes of ped paths.
