Major Faction Unit Rebalance

Description
An attempt to better balance all major faction unit, with a focus on making no Major Faction unit just obsolete as the game goes on, or not worth their research in the first place.

Full and detailed changelog with short explanations on my decisions can be found in the "Discussions" section.

A lot of buffs and nerfs - some small, some big - as well as a few reworks. I tried to buff up all major faction units that felt bad or lacking in some way, but didn't shy away to nerf some of the strongest ones. Faction balance as a whole was taken into consideration, but there might be a few misses there, as I do not play every faction equally. Any Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Overall, all units should feel appropriately powerful to research and build with this mod. I urge you to check out my Minor Faction Units Rebalanced mod, as they are designed to work with eachother, expanding your variiety of army compositions by a vast amount.

All flying units(Minor Faction ones included) had their world Movement reduced from 6 to 4. This change was adopted from the mod of fellow modder, Iceberg. Flying units still have a great niche as explorers due to the nature of flying and this also allowed me to pump some more power into the units themselves, which should make them more fun to use.
This change might be controversial. If demanded, I will remove it from this mod and instead release a stand-alone version that does this. So just tell me when you don't like the change and I'll oblige.


All of my mods are designed to be played together and follow the principle same principle of balance and variety. And of course, they work well enough standalone. Check them out at your leisure~

Minor Faction Units Rebalanced: A companion mod to this mod, but for Major Faction Units. While Minor Faction units should not eclipse the use of Major Faction units, you may find more of a reason to use them alongside your units and they will be more choice to fill holes in your roster.

This mod adopts changes from ELCP and is designed to be played with ELCP, but works without problems without ELCP.


Any feedback and suggestions are highly appreciated. Balance is a delicate thing and it's hard to test everything by my lonesome.

Yeah, I remember you not liking that some governors specifically seemed unfocused or too conditional. I dont think you had a problem with the generals, though. Fwiw, I sharpened general identity a lot last patch.

For the Governors~ Id say most are pretty straight-forward. Now. While there might be an odd skill here or there - and some governors are definitely a bit convoluted.. Id say its still an improvement over the base game, where you had like 3-4 viable governors period.
But if you get around to it, I always appreciate feedback, especially when you have some specific things you wanna change. Wont act on everything of course(I like the super convoluted lay of the land skill for Drakken lol), but Im always happy to improve.

I already play most of them. Theyre good. Only 1 mode i dont like is skill overhaul - I already send a feedback in comments, but didnt test this mod after updates yet. I think i need test it when ill free time.

@AngryMarine lol I wish. Many of them are just iterative things I noted down during my games. Being a mod that aims to be balanced, there's bound to be small changes over time.
I haven't been happy with a few things for a while and finally got around to changing them.
I'm so far pretty happy with the support changes. Support units feel really fun to use now.
