More Options (unstable)

Description
Adds more options to the game to play with.
Works with existing saves again! =D

For V69

WARNING: There is currently a game breaking bug, where population for regions is 0 when creating a new game with the mod. Fixing this takes longer then expected... sorry =(

The port to version V65 was done with the help of Senso.
Please try to break the mod and report any bugs you find!






Features
  • Sounds: Tune the volume of in game soundsConfig like wind
  • Events: Toggle and tune certain game eventsConfig
  • Weather: Tune the amount of weather effects like snow
  • Boosters: Influence bonuses
  • Metrics: Collect and export time series data into a CSV
  • Races: Change the likings between your races
  • Advanced: Advanced features for troubleshooting
  • Game Performance Stats: Widget with data to game performance
  • Blueprint Export / Import: Import or export room blueprints to and from your clipboard
  • Crash detection: Will backup and restore config in case of a game crash
(i) Hover names and icons to get more info

The main options are stored in
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\songsofsyx\settings\MoreOptions.txt
These are stored globally and are applied to each game.


Faction boosters and Race likings are stored per save game though. They are located in:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\songsofsyx\saves\profile\More Options\

Sounds


Multiple people complained about certain soundsConfig in the game. For example the sound of wind or ripping ass in your Lavatories. Here you can manipulate each sound I could find in the game with a slider. The percentage will be multiplied with the normal sound level.

Events


You lost your 5th play through, because you were not prepared for that incoming raid?
Toggle certain game eventsConfig and even crank raid chance up to over 9000 when you are masochistic.

Weather


You can't see through all of these snow on the screen? Lower the amount of it!
Tune the amount of weather effects on the screen.

Boosters


Did you know the game had a lot of boosters? Now you know...
Boosters are used to add bonuses to certain aspects of the game. For example the knowledge production.
You can change your or the npc factions boosters.



DISCLAIMERS
  • Changing these values to a high number can slow or even crash your game.

Metrics


Some of you seem to like to play with numbers and there were at least TWO requests for it in the Discord I can remember at least.
So here it is!... Numbers!... The Game!... It allows you to collect and export 1200 time series data points from the game into a CSV file.
I guess there will be a lot of garbage in it, but you guys will figure it out ;D

Races


Manipulate the likings between races as you like! Each configuration is bound to the save file.
You can reuse other configurations from other game saves via the "Load" button.

Advanced


Set the log level, do things and dump the logs to see what might went wrong.
Reset the whole mod by deleting the config file and resetting everything to default.

Blueprint Export / Import


Share your room blueprints with others!

Game Performance Stats


See how well your game is performing and what is going on under the hood.

Crash Detection



Manipulating values in the game can lead to a crash. In that case the mod will backup your configuration and start a restore process the next time you load into a save.

Nice to know

Some configuration is saved per save game, e.g. faction boosters and race likings. Files are stored in %APPDATA%\Roaming\songsofsyx\saves\profile\More Options\.
Depending on your save frequency the size of this folders could grow some MB. I do this, because storing the data into the game save file, will corrupt it whenever I change something in the mods config structure.

Manual Installation

Download a .zip file by a version you want from the Releases[github.com] page.

Extract it to:

Oh I'm such a dum dum...
It's a bug that makes all region pop to 0.
I'll hold on to your new update to fix this problem. (Make sure it's save compatible.)

Why is it that my world is slowly losing pop?
As I check some stuff, the "More Option Percent" is at 0.00 even though their percentage in the "Boosters" option is at 100%

Yes, this is normal. To be able to control the boosts via the UI, I create my own boosters and attach them to each of the vanilla game boosters. The additive booster gets 0 as "no value" and the multiplicative booster gets 1. This results in no boost at all when calculating the overall boost for something.

Is this loyalty and happiness boost normal? Nothing has been changed in the mod's settings, and it already comes with these native modifications.

Ah yes, i see. I've loaded the save right before using the mod, and numbers are fine. Then the one save when mod was installed - also fine. But one save later all population is 0 indeed. That's a bummer
Boosters is a really cool option to experiment with stuff in this game, but apparently the world is getting screwed

Yes... this smells like the regions have 0 population problem. If you check the world map, all regions should have 0 population generated. I'm still hunting the cause for this... sorry this is kinda game breaking =(

I only changed boosters to test the stuff, no crazy values, everything in range around 100%-1000%

This is only the first line of the error message. I need the whole thing to get a clue what's going on. It may be caused by other regions having 0 population.
