Yes' Improved Stealth v2 [B42/B41]

Description
Now for B42
If you don't see the light moodle in your game and you had enabled the mod before then It needs to be enabled again.

This is a complete rework of the stealth in this game. Making it more consistent under the right conditions.
I got tired of waiting for b42 so I came back to this game.

Recommended to be played with the XP on Backstab Mod
NOW COMPATIBLE WITH THE CRAWL MOD
NOW COMPATIBLE WITH BANDITS NPC MOD
I think.

Darkness Matters.

For this mod to start doing things it requires two things from you. First, you have to be sneaking. Second, you need to be in a dark enough tile, standing in the fog will work too. This means that the mod does not depend for it to be night at all, you can turn off the lights of a warehouse and you'll be covered by the shadows. But it also works the other way around, if you stand under a streetlamp long enough at night the zombies will have an easier time spotting you.

There is now a moodle displaying this light info

This moodle will display the lightning information for you. You can turn it off in the sandbox settings. Thanks to Moodle Framework!

Your sneaking level matters.

Each level you have in sneak will decrease the radius at which you can be spotted. This makes it so characters that spend trait points in sneaking will have a head start in stealth that will be noticeable. Remember, you NEED to be in the darkness (or fog) for this mod to do anything at all. If you stand in the middle of the street in broad day light, zombies will be able to see you and the game's default detection system will apply.

Your traits matter.

Inconspicuous will decrease said radius by a small amount, while Conspicuous will increase it.

Your choice of clothing matters.

Wearing dark clothing will give you a small bonus in your stealth radius. However, I made it so it is less intrusive. If you want this bonus, wearing a black T-Shirt underneath or even a black bandana will be enough, you don't need to change your entire fashion at all. Although, wearing a High vis vest will give you a huge penalty 100% of the time. If this mechanic isn't to your liking, you can always disable it at the sandbox options. I made this for the people like me who like to look sneaky while playing sneaky characters.

There is now a Camouflage system.

Wearing clothes with similar colors to your environment will give you another bonus. Wearing grey or black in urban areas or wearing green in every other area with vegetation like a forest will active this bonus. Ghillie Tops, Military Green Camo Shirts, Military Urban Camo shirts and Green Camo jackets will also have this behavior. Please be aware that only clothing with uniform patterns will have this effect, any piece of clothing that has something (like a picture, badge, literally anything) on it will not be able to carry this Camo bonus.

You can set the backstab to be completely silent.

This feature is turned off by default. You can enable it in the sandbox options.

This mod is CUSTOMIZABLE.

You can edit the value of all this bonuses in the sandbox options. You also have the option if you want the backstab to be completely silent and you can disable the clothing bonus.

Credit to TChernobill for Moodle Framework!
And remember, stick to the shadows survivor.
This mod is 100% compatible with The Long Night mod.
This mod should work with Night Vision Goggles now
This mod should work with Throwables now
This was tested with Night Vision Chucked and Brita's Armor Pack. Please let me know if there is an issue or if you would like to see another mod being compatible.

Game changer!

Its a common sense stealth mechanic. Crouch + stealth skill = less sight/hearing.

Wish it was vanilla! Good job

I had that same crashes as gormotha also with Airdrops.

The crash in your most recent session is caused by conflicting or broken code from two mods, based on the console log:
🛑 Culprit Mods:

Improved Stealth v2

Random Airdrops

💥 Error Summary:

The crash originates from a Lua error related to the OnWorldSound event:

function: OnWorldSound -- file: b42Sneak.lua line # 312 | MOD: Improved Stealth v2
function: SpawnAirdrop -- file: airdrop_server.lua line # 626 | MOD: Random Airdrops

And the key Java runtime error:

RuntimeException: Object tried to call nil in OnWorldSound at KahluaUtil.fail

This means the Improved Stealth mod tried to call a function or value that doesn’t exist, possibly because Random Airdrops tried to spawn something that stealth mechanics couldn't properly handle (e.g. spawning NPCs or vehicles that generate sound events).
🧠 Additional Notes:

This is likely due to an unhandled nil value being passed into a sound-related function, possibly caused by a botched airdrop spawn.

Very cool mod, interesting to play, commandos in zombieoid. BUT! It is very upsetting that NPCs and bandits do not seem to know that you are in stealth in the shadows)) they see and shoot.
I am talking about the most popular mods on the server with NPCs

Does crawling add to the radius reduction, stacking radius reduction
Or does it just set it to crawl radius?

I have no option in the sandbox settings to disable the moodle in b42

@yes, after further tests with your mod on my modlist, your mod somehow breaks this mod , features, especially the ghost one, the rest i can still activate, i use this mod to test mods before the gain a concrete place in my modlist.

Wanted to report you this, i dont have any error to show, but if you use both and test this above you will see i'm not lying.

Cheers.

@yes, firstly, thank you for the amazing mod, tha you provided the community of PZ with, awesome work, have been using it since the past build.

Secondly, there is any update on the icon/moodle that you were working, trying to implement according to your past statements? If not, there is any chance you make this compatible with the Moddle Framework B42 version and the Plain Moodles B42 version as well?

Or please make your icon/moodle, moveable, because its overlapping another mod i use, and i cant move it, only disable it, but i would like to use it.

Cheers.

Would it be possible to add compatibility with Fred's Night Vision in Build 42? (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3303590197&searchtext=fred%27s+night+vision)

Maybe so it ignores the "night vision" light source.
