Visored Headgear

Description
Visored Headgear (HD)

This is a continuation of the Recon & Marine Helmet Visor mod by Necrova, now in HD! Also comes with slick new gunlink cosmetic!

As of 1.5 now also Includes support for all ideology styled helmets that 'should' have visors as well as for Vanilla Factions Expanded - Empire.

Description

The vanilla rimworld helmets seem to have been initially conceived with visors but they were never implemented for one reason or another. I think the helmets look way better with them which is why I used to use Necrova's mod. However the textures were not all in HD and many people run HD texture packs nowadays. This mod was made to fix the lackluster graphics for those who use HD texture packs such as Vanilla Textures Expanded in combination with Necrovas mod.

Note

This is technically also a continuation of Recon Helmet Fix mod by Eragon001. That mod did not change anything from Necrova's mod except for the version history. It is not recommended to run both mods, choose his mod instead if you don't use HD texture packs and use mine if you are using HD texture packs. Both are continuations of Necrovas original mod.

The HD helmet textures originate from Vanilla Textures Expanded, it's highly recommended it is used in tandem witht his mod for the best graphical results (as seen in the preview pics).

For obvious reasons you need to run this mod enabled 'after' that mod or other texture packs which touch the helmets for HD visored helmets to show up.

currently broken as of rn, if you wanna fix it just go into rimpy and go to the mod, or do steam/steamapps/workship/content/294100/3070137089, go to loadfolder.xml, change 1.5 to 1.6 and it works

If it doesn't feel right for you in the testing, then don't change it. You are the real one!

@Cosmo Corban

Still if the helmets had see through visors they would have been completely see through like the recon helmet. At least that's how I feel about it. It makes more sense that it has an internal display screen while the rest of the helmet is completely sealed off for maximum protection, at least that is my head cannon. I don't know what Ludeon's actual intentions were with the helmet as it's quite the odd looking thing regardless. If I made those parts see through the entire thing would be mostly just see through helmet which I think would look kind of weird too. I'll consider giving it a try and see how it looks when 1.6 rolls around. No promises though.

@The Blind One I thought I had answered you, wtf
Anyway, I have always believed the yellow part in cataphract helmets was like military grade yellow tinted glass. Like a space suit helmet.

@Blueo

Will be updated to 1.6 as soon as I get my hands on the DLC.

As for the vac suit, I'll have to see but if it makes sense then yes they will get the same treatment.

Works in 1.6, but do you plan on adding visors to the new armor(s?) that's being added to Odyssey like the VAC suits?

@Cosmo Corban

I had considered it but in my imagination the cataphract helmet does not have a visor. It has an internal display of what is happening on the outside. What part would be the visor in your imagination if I may ask?

Could you posible add a visorlike to the cataphract helmet please? c:

@Just_Eh_Gamer

I don't see why it wouldn't be?

At the very least it won't crash your game. It's just textures.

is this compatible with alpha mech armors?
