Rig Operation
Drilling

1. To load a rod, take a rod out of the rod storage rack on the left side of the platform. Slide the rod out and over the outer railing and grab the end of the rod and place it in the arm clamp.

2. Navigate to the panel next to the drilling darrick and turn on the "Arm Clamp" and "Drilling Darrick Clamp" keys. The rod may need to be moved around a bit but It will then lock into place.

3. Navigate to the control room and turn on "Panel Power" and press and hold the button labeled "Pumpjack Up" and turn on "Turntable Clamp". Once the Pumpjack reached the top of the drilling derrick, head back towards the rod loading station.

4. Move the rod backwards until the tip of the rod is aligned with the edge of the arm clamp. (The rod may have to be spun by your character)

5. Press "Tip Rod" and the rod will move horizontally towards the drilling darrick then push the rod down into the turntable until it locks.

6. Head back up towards the control room and turn on "Pumpjack Clamp" and move the pumpjack down until it locks to the rod.

7. To start the drilling process, double check that all equipment / personnel are clear of the drilling equipment and press “Start / Run Drill”. After you strike oil, turn on “Start / Run Oil Pumps” so any oil that is found will be collected.

Connecting More Rods:

1. After the rod is in the connecting area of the drilling derricks slider. (REVERT to steps 1-6 in part 1 of now to load another rod)

2. An indicator labeled as "Rods Aligned" will illuminate. Press the "Connect New Rod" button to lock the new rod into place.

If you are having trouble connecting another rod:

When the pumpjack makes it to the drilling derricks clamp when drilling DON'T STOP the drill! For some reason if the pumpjack stops the well still gets deeper! After the well has stopped increasing its depth, you can disconnect the swivel clamp and the turntable clamp and move the rod down far enough for a new rod to be connected.

@hunterjeffries12 Yea it's most likely because you don't have the DLC.

The rod does not enter the ground, it just spins. I followed the instructions to a T. It may be the fact that I don't have the DLC, but I am not sure. Wondering if you could help, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Actually no, I found oil at about 55 meters

Drill below 30 meters, and still no oil.

There is no 4th instruction, is that intentional?

Pumping oil into another vehicle is SO slow, any ideas as to why?

@dino_boss777 I checked the panel and it's working for me. Try reloading the rod again.
