The rod does not enter the ground, it just spins. I followed the instructions to a T. It may be the fact that I don't have the DLC, but I am not sure. Wondering if you could help, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Actually no, I found oil at about 55 meters

@jesse pinkman If you want to decrease the amount of fluid in the storage tanks you can select the fluid spawner and change the settings.

The drill moves very slowly, and refer back to the instructions.

That'll be cool. But I kinda need to drill oil before I can refine it,

There are rig setups out there, I know, but none made before the Space DLC (Disaster-Loaded Content) so I doubt it will work... and just as I'm nowhere near ready to try to work with a movable platform, I'm also nowhere near ready to try to design my own oil rig. :P

Aw. I'm nowhere near ready to mess with something like that. I just want to drill oil and refine diesel off the purchasable platform so I can start using big ships without having to choose between converting them to electric-furnace, infinite-fuel steam and buying huge amounts of diesel.

After the drill stops and you connected a new rod you can start up the drill again and continue.
