A simple (yet effective) build for simple men (like myself).

Step 1: Be sure of what you want to embody.
You had a hard day at work yet you still crave that sweet sweet video games power fantasy. You want to look and feel good and skillful while actually not having to put (much) effort into it. Welcome fellow shootie shootie pew pew enjoyer! Darktide life can be very simple - I'll show you how!

Meditate over the following pictures. Make sure you understand and accept the very core of this build's mindset before continuing.

Step 2: Make sure you look the part.
You are the definition of style over substance. You are an 14yo edgelords power fantasy's wet dream. Whenever you see the ray-tracing (thanks to your 4000+ dollar rig) reflection of your character somewhere ingame you want to get slightly aroused.

If you happen to have access to this helmet, it is mandatory to wear it from time to time!
Step 3: Create a build worthy of your incomparable skill level

- Enemy ranged troops (our main target to hunt down!) are highlighted, we don't need to have much situational awarness, nice!
- Thanks to survivalist aura we have basically infinite ammo.
- Our grenades "regenerate magically" (and are our cLuTch ToOl against crushers / bulwarks)
- Everything we touch in melee once in a while dies to bleed stacks
- We are surprisingly tough (like in real life, I SWEAR) thanks to somewhat high toughness and good toughness damage reduction.

We shoot at everything that shoots at us. If its an elite / special, we tag it in advance. Basically. And we kill doggos and stuff with our gun too. In melee we simply spam light / heavy repeat or do some push attack heavy follow up eventually against tougher targets.

Step 4: Equip yourself with the latest and greatest cookie cutters

We have basically infinite ammo with this gun. Thanks to executioners stance it's very accurate and stronk when hip fired. So you dont have to aim down sight(unless shooting over very long distance) - and can therefore switch between targets very fast. Deals with "trash" ranged enemies and gunners in general in notime. We could aim for weakspots if we feel like it but... meh. Most of the time we just aim slighty towards enemy direction and watch stuff die. Just like in COD.

Stronger than the Kantrael IV and you don't have to mod the game (see step 5). But also has it's drawbacks... mainly... not as infinite ammo than on the Kantrael. So you sometimes actually have to aim for heads to conserve ammo and / or use melee more often. Yikes!

Super easy and safe to use! Applies bleed stacks to many enemies due to high cleave! If we really want to show off, we can use the parry special to counterfight ragers and even monstrosities once in a while!

We stack toughness, toughness regen as well as combat ability regen on our curious. And damage reduction... up to user preference. (I have 1 sniper, 1 bomber and 1 flamer 20%DR on each of my curios). When we take some damage, we just step back a little and wait a short amount of time until toughness regen kicks in. We go back to the fight with full health.
Step 5: Mod the game
You want to install this mod:

https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/87

It basically turns your semi automatic Kantrael IV into a fully automatic beast. (Don't worry, it does not shoot faster than it would by default, it's just a usability thing. It basically becomes an infinite ammo Recon Lasgun in terms of usage).

If you need further assistance on how to install mods in general:
(I personally don't use any other mod at all for my game than this Full Auto mod for this build. I don't need a scoreboard mod for example - because I know I'm the best anyway)

Step 6: Watch gameplay videos
In order to get better at the game, it's always recommended to watch and analyse other people's pro gameplay. Luckily there's not much to this build. So just watch the following comprehensive overview video which covers all the basics:

Once you've mastered the immeasurably complex art of playing Vet in Darktide, you'll look something like this:

Step 7: Battlefield 2140k Adaptation
So you got the core melee mechanics somewhat right so that you can stand your ground with a default decent melee weapon and dont need any cheap Krak Grenade auto aim sticky tricks anymore on top of that? ;). Try this build:

I won't get much into details or the science behind this build. You wouldn't understand it anyway. Honestly, I don't really either, but thanks to onslaught and rending strikes everything armored dies very fast when using a fast firing weapon You won't be as capable in melee anymore That's another lie, power cycler powersword is still overpowered even after all the nerfs, you just have to be a bit more cautious and click that special attack button a bit more often and you lack the overpowered Krak Grenade. Apart from that - thanks to Rending strikes / Onslaught as well as Superiority Complex / Bring it Down! combination - you literally melt down any (armored) target quickly with a fast firing weapon such as the Kantrael IV or any of the Recon Lasgun variants.

You want to play a really ranged focus build that is actually insanely strong and doesn't use Plasma Gun / Revolver? Try it out! ;)

Step 8: Evolve!
Bored of playing Call Of Duty? Or not too tired / too drunk to care by accident?

Go try out Space Cowboy Gun Psyker!
