The Bigger and Bolder Project

Description
The secluded and mist-shrouded capital of Hjaalmarch has been expanded and improved as another addition to the Bigger and Bolder project! As one of Skyrim's more ignored settlements, I thought it warranted a decent amount of extra content to once more draw attention to its status as a capital of one of the Nine Holds. The expansion features:

- A stone main gate hung with Hjaalmarch banners, and a town wall with guard towers surrounding most of the village to protect the inhabitants from the creatures of the marshes as well as add to the sense of security and strength;

- A fully functional stable on the clifftop outside the main gate, which sells mottled grey horses at the standard price, run by a hardy Nord farmer (Agmundr). The dialogue for selling the horse is recycled from vanilla voice files for one of the "backup" hostlers, which makes it unique as long as the original stable masters of the five major cities remain alive and well and their replacements don't take over the job;

- An expanded graveyard behind the Jarl's longhouse, and an added gravekeeper's hut with a hand-furnished interior, home to a crotchety old man (Eyvindr the Gravekeeper) who tends the dead;

- A smelting furnace out in front of the Jarl's longhouse;

- An extra house out on the lake at the end of the "dead end" dock, with a hand-furnished interior, home of a mild-mannered Argonian (Teekus);

- A general store with a hand-furnished interior next to the lumber mill run by an unlikely couple (Athenor and Inga Valesi) with an interesting backstory to be uncovered with a bit of detective work around their shop.

A good deal of time and thought has gone into the Bigger and Bolder project, and it's my sincere hope that this mod helps enhance the experience of all who opt to use it, and draws them deeper into the magnificent world of Skyrim. Be sure to check out my other mods in the Bigger and Bolder series here on the Steam Workshop as well.

Update 1.0 - Packed FaceGen Data in archive with upload, hopefully this fixes the dark face bug on all added NPCs.

The stable guy and merchant couple are grey faced and won't trade.

Nice mod, with some added gates to it would even be better

Installed this mod last year and works well. Followers can’t come inside the General Store and actually run off unless told to stay, but they will run back when exiting. Also, the shopkeeper’s wife disappeared from one build but as you know there may be good sinister reasons for that. Thanks for a fine mod. Also using Minor Cities Improved: Jarl’s Palaces with no conflict. Morthal is less of a dump, and something a Thane can feel good about.

Most modders aiming to improve Morthal's appearance tend to overdo a lot of things. Your mod is one of the lore-friendliest I've seen so far and I really enjoyed it. My only minor criticism is that the newly added houses look a bit empty. They would greatly benefit from more furniture and clutter to look more "natural".

Nevertheless, I like your style - you wouldn't happen to improve the Dawnstar Sanctuary, Castle Volkihar and Raven Rock?

I really like the addition of the stone gate and wooden palisades; can't imagine going back to vanilla Morthal again. Also, I especially appreciate the addition of a smelter. Thanks!

Well, this seems like a star in the series. One suggestion-- and for lore only-- a quest in Morthal has you do detective work over everything, and turns out that vampires are trying to take over the town maybe you could add something to show evidence of that?

What the...?
Nevermind that, dude. It's fine now. Perhaps it was a graphical glitch. Do not worry, though, I
just started Skyrim again, and said glitch is gone. Thanks for everything.
Oh, and... Great and inspiring job, as always! =)
