Map Description:
The Ansaldo company played an important role in armaments production during the Second World War and manufactured a wide range of military goods. It was particularly well known for the production of tanks and other military vehicles for the Axis powers, especially for Fascist Italy. A famous example was the medium tank "Carro Armato M13/40", which was developed and manufactured by Ansaldo.

Ansaldo's headquarters were located in Genoa, Italy. Genoa was an important industrial city and a major centre for Italian armaments production during the Second World War. Its location on the coast facilitated the transport of goods and materials, which was crucial for war production.

Genoa, as an important industrial and harbour location, was occupied by the Allies during the Second World War as part of the Allied landing in Italy. The Allied invasion of Italy began in September 1943, when the Allies landed in Sicily and then advanced onto the Italian mainland. After the armistice between Italy and the Allies on 3 September 1943, German troops occupied a large part of northern Italy, including Genoa.

The city of Genoa was finally liberated by the Allies in the spring of 1945 as they were advancing towards northern Italy.

Ansaldo Genova was made by bockla for the CoH Worldbuilders 2024 Mapping Competition. Open submissions closed 15 January 2024 with results revealed 18 April 2024. Community members such as top players, streamers, mappers, and even professionals served as judges. Due to the anonymous nature of the competition, GBPirate uploaded all maps to the Workshop on behalf of the contestants.
