This is a "compact" 4 docks version of the Helios MSC/MSC2 from jrandall for solo players or a duo team. This version only use a bit more as 10k blocks and under 90k carbon and can hold up to 33 drive thrusters! Of course is this version also lightweight with a bit over 4kt.

The old and even more the new version of the Helios is not only a classic but also one of the best known carrier for Empyrion.

So, why another alternative build? Even when the MSC2 was just released?
Well, the original Helios is a big ship. A real big ship in terms of space.
It is the ship you use for a group or a clan as base or base carrier.

I have not the time to play in a group or clan and i usually go as lone wolf.
The original Helios is just one number to big for me. But it is also a perfect carrier.
So i checked what can be done to "shrink" it and make it fit for a solo player.

Also, as solo player you handle such a carrier a bit different.
For example you usually do not use the main mobile base carrier of your clan for your private lifting jobs, right? Because that is a premium way to reduce the number of your steam friends and get you banned from the clan discord.
As solo player you do not have such limits.

The MSC Compact is designed more to be a heavy lifter carrier base as a more static "mobile base". You can and want do more tasks with it.

For the first task, the shrinking, i reworked the front section of the original MSC (lets call it MSC1) and removed the side hangars by removing the whole blocks and move the remaining front to the middle. The now missing ramps was attached to the big front hangar. The inner space here is still enough to hold several end game SVs and HVs.

Then i exchanged the 4 middle docks for the helios modules with the ones from the new MSC2 because jrandall really designed that on spot for the MSC2 and also added all possible solar modules, something i had to do anyway.

To spare even more blocks and recources i had to rework the tail complete.
My goal was to give enough space for alot more drives to be able to do lifting jobs but also to include all 8 small and all 8 middle sized shield boosters.

What i did not included is space for fusion reactors or shield arrays. Again, if you want the big solution go for the original MSCs, this build is not a rebuild or a competitor but a unofficial special purpose addition to that family. If you think you miss here something than it is so by purpose and you will for sure find it in the originals.

For the more agile role i had to add and rework all drive sections. You can now add up to 33 drives to it and every spot can hold the big drive thrusters. That does not mean you should add on every spot a drive by default but if you want make the compact a heavy lifter you can add 10 drives alone for the lifting.

That rework also improved the agility aka the torque values alot.

I added also some more container space with a 640k, 360k, 2x 320k, an ammu controller with 320k and some more cargo boxes with 16k. It should give enough space even without a storage module.

The compact comes with all needed base parts. Radar, adv. shield and warp drive, teleporter and so on. I also added a bit more space for the special stuff of RE.

One last note:jrandall is perhaps one of the best artists in the whole workshop. His skill to create out of the standard blocks structures which looks functional is insane and way above my artistic level. I tried to make the tail as original as possible but you will see a difference in style. I gave my best but my limit is way under jrandall.

Thank you! Love this ship. Any reason you chose 4x large generators instead of a second advanced gen? Sill runs at 100% CPU at 2,155,725 and the math works out better. 2x advanced gens give 190kw output at 2.65 input. Wondering if there was a reason to go with the smaller ones.
