Ena Shinonome

The strong-willed and determined artist from Nightcord at 25:00, Ena Shinonome, has joined the Fray as a new playable fighter!

Arriving from Project Sekai: Colorful Stage ft. Hatsune Miku (or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage), Enanan here will prove to her main naysayer that with enough sheer will and determination (as well as her endless storage of selfies on her phone), she’s able to create some beautiful imagery on the battlefield!

Sprites and animations were all created from the ground up by myself! Shoutout to Nyon for helping create the Ena Shinonome render, and many thanks to a bunch of others in the McLeodGaming discord for helping out with the project as well!

Some useful facts while playing Ena:

-Rapid Jab, Rapid Jab Finisher, and the phone flash of Up Strong all reflect projectiles.
-You can turn around during the first few frames of Dash Attack.
-Hitting the attack button a second time on Forward Tilt attacks the opponent again.

SPECIAL MOVES:

Neutral Special: Color Roulette

Upon entering battle, a paint bucket found on Ena’s hud will gradually fill up during the battle. Once the paint bucket is full, pressing Neutral Special will bring up 4 different colors around her. Selecting one of these colors will give her a temporary buff.

Red: 1.15x Damage Multiplier
Green: Gravity/Fall Speed Decreased
Blue: Running Speed Increased
Purple: Healing Over A Short Period

Once a buff is active, the paint bucket will start to empty. Once the paint bucket finishes emptying, the boost will wear off. After a bit, the paint bucket will fill up again, allowing for another boost once full again. Only one boost can be equipped.


Side Special: Paint Plop

Ena takes out her paintbrush and lobs a blob of paint in an arc in front of her. This move does two different things, depending on if the blob hits an opponent or the ground. If the blob hits an opponent, they take damage and get stunned for a couple of frames. If the blob hits the ground, it spreads out on the floor, creating a paint puddle where it landed. Opponents walking over the puddle will take damage.

Up Special: Fairy’s Wings

Ena crouches down a bit, before jumping up and spreading her wings out, forcing her upwards. Ena can be slightly controlled to the left or the right at the peak of her jump. This move does not put you into free fall, allowing for movement when the move ends.

Down Special: Regret Repentir

A broken and ripped canvas appears in front of Ena, causing Ena to sigh and leave herself open. Any opponent that attacks her during this time will cause Ena to force herself back into reality and launch a counter attack. The damage doesn’t scale, but opponents that get hit get stunned for a bit, allowing Ena to potentially follow up with an attack of her own.
