P160-V6T STARBURST

Description
The P160-V6T is the latest Entry to my "Pure Ion", fully Vanilla, 1vs1 Line of Ships (as of 14.01.24), but doesnt "just" focus on Efficiency this Time, but also on the economical Part, so it can be flown even at the hardest Eco Difficulty and have some spare Crew for Miners/Escorts.

Thus the Mantra for it was, to keep it at 160 Ions (because thats just enough Dakka for almost everything), below 900 Crew, below 10.000.000 Credits (for PvP Boss Brawls) and compress the Design enough to still have decent Speed/Manouverability and Armor, as well as most of the Stuff of my previous Designs.

It took me about 300 Hrs over 6 Weeks, with 400+ Test Saves and 6 total Rebuilds of the Ship to achieve that, so... drop me a Cookie if ya will =P.

Some notable Things this amassed to would be the 2+ "Fire Modes" (Instructions below), using Bunks as Corridors, very fast rotation Speed (Strafe is subpar though, so use the "rotate" Command), a Shotgun (focussed at close Range, spread out beyond) Beam Setup, super compressed Ion Chambers, an Ion Tunnel Armor Spine, huge Frontal Armor (with 2 Layouts of Hyperweave for Anti-Beam and Anti-Nuke), a Paintjob that drove me insane by the lack of shading Blocks and most importantly, the Fact that it can beat "Stronger" (more Crew, Firepower) Ships regularely (not always/depending on AI/Skill), while having about 200-900 Crew less than all the Ships i tested it against.

This includes my own P192/P128 and probably all the other Dread Designs out there by the Date of Upload and of course all the biggest integrated AI Ships of the Game.

It would technically work with even less Crew (Ions can work with just 1 Feeder per Ion, but not on bigger Ships due to "Task Lag" (Link below)), so if that gets "fixed" someday you could reduce the Crew by up to 96 Souls, down to 802 total (just from the Ions).

So as always, long Story short, heres the Stats, enjoy! =)

Hyperweave Armor for diagonal Ships (Link below)
Ion Tunnel Armor Spine (against Enemy Ions)
Crew Hive System (Bunks as Corridors/looks like a Hive =P)
Pretty efficient Engine Blocks (1M-R to 2ER x 5H-Eng.)
Semi 3D + Module Shading Paintjob (Game needs more Color Layers)

Hotkeys:

2 - Side Pirsms
3 - All Outlet Prisms
8 - Port Side (Left) Redirect Prism

0 - 1 Ion from each Chamber for Testing

Fire Mode Instruction:
For the 2 Basic Modes i included, just switch the Prisms on Hotkey 8 and 9 as shown in the Screenshot of the Slideshow above.
One can also use other Prisms to redirect more Dakka to the Side Beams, e.g. if the Ship gets split, but i leave that to you to fiddle around with, as its not necessary for the most Part. =P
Use Hotkey 0 to fire 1 Ion from every Chamber to better see the Routes the Beams take, for testing that.

Thanks. I guess I wasn't subscribed to this thread, so didn't get a notification :(

Pushed out a few more since. It's fun trying to design a ship that beats all the other ships. Now, I even try to beat my own, lol, but I'm probably done for a bit now too, unless I see something interesting, like a new weapon (coming soon hopefully) =)

The only other dread designers I know of design oversized ships with huge ships mods. Heaven's end is currently the strongest missile ship on workshop.

There are a few other oversized dreads in there, but ours should crush all of the others

This is a fun hobby to optimize dreads when we have time. looking forward to testing against the new paradox ships, they look interesting. Currently suspect I would disengage AI control in favor of pure side ramming as that chaingun wing looks far easier to break through than anywhere else.

The 3 of us are the strongest dreadnought designers I know of. There may be 1 or 2 others that dont post on workshop.
I find it interesting that all 3 of us aim to never specifically hardcounter the others, but rather found a niche that we optimize for the strongest avg ship of our interest. No budget or crew limits beyond what the base game allows.
Lalelunatic unquestionably has the strongest pure ion and is the most career viable.
Paradox focuses on AI controlled battles using anything possible. I find it interesting how this changes the dynamic of the fights.
Laser focuses on the largest amount of speed and effective weaponry as possible under the expectation of manual control override that could instantly deal with any weaknesses that AI fails to abuse.

cant think of anyone specifically. i also make ions only most of the time. vanilla cap size dreads arent that popular because of the slight problem with career playability =). at least thats my guess... you also forgot to add that data to your dread (price, weight, crew, etc. important stuff) =P.

for big ships you gotta rake through the workshop... there are a few older ones, but i guess you´ve seen most of em if you took one serious look. even if there where more, its as said, someone makes ship A, so another person can make ship B to 100% counter it. then even another person makes ship C to counter ship B at 100%, which might lose against ship A then =/.

but keep em coming, its good for testing stuff and hopefully new modules down the line when career 2.0 is complete-ish. as i got a bit much on my plate atm to tinker around on a ship 2 months... sadly...

@lalelunatic, @Laser,

I added to that link/workshop my ship that can beat both of your ships. Took me a while, 10 versions, lol.

Do you guys know anyone else who makes bigger ships? I looked around the workshop, but didn't see many. Already beat the few I've seen.
Laser 21 Aug, 2024 @ 12:29pm
I added a construction process folder to the Rekyu's workshop with some notable construction points so you can play around with some of the ideas I had. I hope these were the functional versions, it has been a month since I stopped.

Needed a break after working on it for several months straight. I am not yet satisfied with the thruster feel and the sidewall setup had not yet been settled. Deck cannon placement and integration with the chaingun reload I dont think was finished. Also wanted to learn paint so it currently has a mess of copied borrowed ideas meant to be worked on later.

I am pretty sure Wraith does need a degree of manual control to bring out its true power. Focus fire targetting is required vs your ships to prevent wasted damage
Paradox 21 Aug, 2024 @ 1:02am
It'll never be finished, lol. Once I get so far I get tired of trying to mess with things for a while, but you can kill it if you want. I figured out how to upload it.

hoi, yo i see, you made a center one with split and bigger "spine", looks neat =). when you are done, upload it, gonna test around when i have time!

PS: the side lasers and shields where primarely to kill of lasers "one time use" chaingun array before it could ramp up. its always a back n forth with ship designs. havnt seen one yet that can kill everything =P.
Paradox 20 Aug, 2024 @ 11:23pm
@lalelunatic, Heya, I wanted to say thanks. Thanks. I used this as a template for my ship. I changed a few things so it wasn't a total copy, but it's still very similar to yours. The side laser area and upper most shields to the edge seem to be a weakness I tried to get rid of in my design.

I put mine against yours, took a few rebuilds of the ship before I got the results I wanted. I had to ditch the extra MRT's, using 2 columns instead of 4. It'll still go 87, just not 110+.

@Laser, Is your ship in the workshop?
lalelunatic  [author] 27 Jun, 2024 @ 5:04am
uuuuh that looks nice. seems your onto some center chain setup with ions that actually might work out! ok enough chit chat, back to work, i wanna see the finished one!!! =P just kiddin, take your time, thats the best advice i can give you here. =)
