Description

Adds a roof-mounted chaingun that exchanges it's protective shell for being able to fire overhead, and the technology to unlock it.

It has no damage resistance even when not firing, so you'd best put some good armor over this.

Furthermore, it also has a "high" turret collider like the Deck Cannon, so attempting to fire over it will result in your bullets being blockaded. Build your ships accordingly to this limitation.

The stats are a near 1:1 copy of the original's, down to the bullet, turret aim speed and angle, ammo consumptions, etc; it is also compatible with additional chaingun magazines. However, compared to the original Chaingun, it's cost is different:

[steel, 168] VS vanilla 144
[coil2, 41] VS vanilla 38
[tristeel, 40] VS vanilla 45

Credit cost of: 24,500 VS vanilla 24,000

But they worked with it for me before? That's weird. Something must have broke.

I'll wait for the Heat Update though. That one breaks a lot more.

I cant use the chaingun magazine with this one. Without magazines the chainguns are loosing a lot of offensive capabilties.

anyway you would make a higher cost no collider version like some of starwars turrets?
like needing more tristeel and hyper coils?

That's only if that mod has compatibility with this mod, which I don't know - I haven't tried it.
I suggest you just try and see yourself.

If it doesn't work, you could maybe notify the mod author or simply make a version of this mod with the high collider removed.

Currently I don't think there's a way to provide global compatibility for every mod ever released considering that there's no C++ coding in Cosmoteer modding yet, so it may be possible that No More Deck Gun Collide would only affect the vanilla deck gun and nothing else..
