I'll wait for the Heat Update though. That one breaks a lot more.
I might have to do heat compat for this tho
like needing more tristeel and hyper coils?
Whaddya mean?!
That's only if that mod has compatibility with this mod, which I don't know - I haven't tried it.
I suggest you just try and see yourself.
If it doesn't work, you could maybe notify the mod author or simply make a version of this mod with the high collider removed.
Currently I don't think there's a way to provide global compatibility for every mod ever released considering that there's no C++ coding in Cosmoteer modding yet, so it may be possible that No More Deck Gun Collide would only affect the vanilla deck gun and nothing else..
Would that feature cancelled if I enable the No More Deck Gun Collide (I forgot the real name) mod?
Interesting damage system...
maw with.... Yeah I can see how that could work, would take up a lot of space though.
Alright, cool.
Normal vanilla cannons do not have damage resistance but are quite tanky anyway, and since their outside is considered "Structure", they take less explosive damage.
The roof-mounted chaingun has zero damage resistance capability at the same health as the original.
If you look at the Cosmoteer discord, there are ships that have really good chaingun placement; I don't know how to describe it but it's like a maw with sideways chainguns that shoot from a shield reinforced "barrel".
Walt (Cosmoteer dev) deems corner chaingun belts too uninteresting apparently.
The extra steel cost reflects the additional space taken up by room squares, while the lessened tristeel cost is for the shield - that's what I think it's made of.
Do the normal vanilla cannons (excluding the deck cannon) have damage resistance? Or are they as soft as crew quarters and storage bays?
I think this is a pretty cool mod, if I didn't have this i probably wouldn't bother with the chaingun since getting any reasonable firing time takes a lot of crew, a lot of ammo and a giant flat spot in your armour for not a whole lot of damage output.
Now all we need is a belt corners mod that allows you to wrap the belts around ammo storage.
Also bit of a nit picky balance change but according to the deck cannon the deck mounted versions of weapons tend to consume /more/ tri-steel than their frontal counterparts, while armour seems to be made of steel. Meaning removing the armour and deck mounting a chaingun would in theory use less steel.
You could go to the Cosmoteer discord server and ask around #modding, I'm there and so are a bunch of other modders.
What is gauß?
