No Friendly Fire

Description
Tired of archers shooting your own troops in the back? This mod is for you!

All I did was add the #friendlyimmune tag to all non-special-attack ranged weapons in the game. Notably this does not include breath weapons as I thought that might make dragons and drakes too powerful. Also this does not cover spells of any kind.

This was partly inspired by Sombre's Warhammer mod where the elves got archers that could do this.

This mod doesn't add any new IDs it just modifies all the existing ranged weapons so it should be compatible unless you are modifying any of them too.

I appreciate the simple solution.

Many thanks for the mod! It seems lightweight, and very elegant solution!

Do I expect my archers to time their arrow so that it strikes someone approaching? Yes.

Do I expect my archers to have 100% accuracy in the thick of a huge battle where both sides are equally engaged at the frontline? No... but I understand and welcome this mod for anyone that gets frustrated at seeing their ranged units as the main reason for dead (friendly) units. (10 casualties, 7 caused by my own slingers?!)

I get the point of this mod but it is a strategy and challenge to build your army so you mitigate or cancel friendly fire.

In large battles it is ok, as you have limited space when troops engage. But in small battles, you get more casualties from your own archers, then enemy. I will try this mod. =)

I think this makes a lot of sense and I wouldn't worry about balance as archers are quite situational anyway. Without it I struggle to justify the use of archers, especially in larger battles

As far as balance goes this does apply to all players including AI equally, for what that's worth.

As far as I know there would be no way to reduce friendly fire damage with a mod.
