Description
A new skill tree for late-game blade wielding characters.
NOW UPDATED FOR SPRING MOLTING
MOD HAS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, DOUBLE CHECK YOU HAVE THEM IF UPDATING

Welcome to the first mod in the Prestige Skills collection, a series of mods designed to provide high-investment, high-power skills for long-lived characters. Blade mastery focuses on the existing synergy between long and short blades present in vanilla, and seeks to empower the class fantasy of an exceptionally skilled duelist.

[Notice: I am chronically ill and am on an extended modding vacation. If my insurance decides to cover my autoimmune treatment again I will resume modding. Any user updates / edits of any of my mods have my blessing. Please contact me on steam or discord if you want advice on how to update these mods]
For the time being I have returned.

Blade Mastery
Stat: Agility 25
Prerequisite: long and short blade proficiency
You gain +1 DV when equipped with a short blade.
You gain +1 to hit when equipped with a long blade

Bloodlust
Stat: Agility 27
Prerequisite: Bloodletter
Long blade attacks gain +1 penetration per 3 bleed effects present on the victim

Follow Through
Stat: Agility 29
Prerequisite: Multiweapon Proficiency
Landing an attack with a primary long blade causes a follow up attack from an offhand short blade.

Parry
Stat: Agility 31
Upon being attacked in melee, make an attack roll against the attacker. Gain DV equal to the difference between your attack and theirs, up to a maximum of +3 DV

Its an attack roll, not an attack. This roll simulates you knocking the incoming attack off course.

Riposte
Stat: Agility 33
Prerequisite: Rejoinder
Once per turn when an opponent misses you with a melee attack, you make a free attack with a long blade you're wielding. Rejoinder can now activate multiple times per turn.

Hemorrhage [WIP]
Stat:Agility:?
Prerequisite: Bloodlust
Attack with a long blade in your primary hand. If it penetrates, inflict a bleed effect dealing 1d4 damage at the start of their next turn per bleed effect present on the target.

Empty Mind Technique [WIP][Name Pending]
Stat:Willpower:?
Prerequisite:?
A skill that allows you to gain half of your normal DV when stunned, instead of having your DV reduced to -10.

I gladly accept any user suggestions in terms of balance or further content! Don't hesitate to leave a comment.

@Cosmeo @Celepito I was unable to recreate this issue. Please share any relevant mods and your actions. I'll take a look at how the main game's handling of these mechanics has changed to see if I can use a more durable option.

I can corroborate Cosmeo's bug report, and if I remove Follow Through via the mod Skill Gone, I get multiple attacks again, as normal.

Considering how heavily my game is modded, and that your testing didnt run into this, this is likely to be a very weird mod conflict.

@Clockwork Thanks for the info! I will see if I can figure out a method to prevent that behavior next time I update the mod.

Thank you for the kind words

Mod isn't exactly safe to add mid-game. My character was forced to relearn Rejoinder. I look forward to seeing this mod in action!

@Cosmeo after some exhaustive testing I believe the issue resides somewhere else. I recommend you first unsubscribe / resubscribe to this mod to ensure any previous versions are deleted. I was able to get multiple offhand attacks with flurry and normal attacks. On the back end, follow through literally does not have the ability to block offhand attacks.

That said it may be another part of the mod that I did not consider.

Please test it with no other mods installed, it can help me figure out which mods may be conflicting.

Hi, in my game, Follow Through seems to disable all other offhand attacks, including Flurry.
When Follow Through is learned, I only trigger one offhand short blade, and all other arms never attack even when Flurry is used. All other arms do not attack regardless of whether the primary hand is using a long blade or not.

Mod appears to load in 12/16/2024 once you update Graven's Grimoire!

I wish you luck in dealing with insurance.

@Supertinyking thanks for the heads up! Steam set it to private until admins / automated systems looked over the description after I updated it and never unset it, which they usually do in under 5 mins. It is back to public now.

Hey Graven, seems the Mod Prestige Skill: Metamorph is gone. Is there a reason for that?
