Description
Play as Canada's preserver of nature and the rights of men, David Suzuki; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

Columbia is, of course, named after Christopher Columbus; however, the explorer's name has been broadly applied across the Americas. Both Spaniards and Yankees have come to honour Christopher Columbus in some way. The Columbia of the Pacific Northwest is named after a river which is named after a vessel which in named after Columbus. Columbia's origins began with three competing powers: the fledgling American Republic, the British traders of the Pacific and of the various Canadian corporations, and the overextended Spanish Empire. Various land grabs led to America and Britain disagreeing on the borders of the Oregon Country/District of Columbia throughout the 1800s. Eventually the fur trade was diminished by American gold diggers and the Hudson Bay Company receded to the east. The absence of the Hudson Bay Company also cut down the rights of the natives as new British immigrants claimed more land. Eventually the Britons of Columbia settled for a confederacy with Canada to maintain their allegiance to the Empire, despite the flow of money coming from San Francisco. The province's position on the Pacific made it an entrepot for immigrants from Asia, in particular the Chinese, Japanese, and Indians that wished to enter the New World.

Remember that to support a modder the first thing to do is like or dislike: it's free, it's quick, and it pumps the star rating.

Were you playing on an alt name, @Knoblauch_? It looks like the alt names had ability texts from older builds.

Enjoyed playing as the mighty empire of British Columbia, thanks for the fun mod.

Appears that the production adjacency on mines/lumber mills from Pacific Towns is a minor adjacency. Not sure if intended, but wasn't clear from the description and it's quite an investment to build two Towns just for a little production. Also, I couldn't get the Royal Engineer Detachment to boost district production. Had a good time nonetheless!

All Canadian alts will have to function like Laurier, @Pyrocrates1. Last Best West is what terraforms the tundra; ergo, all new Canadian leaders have to consider their spawn bias. Canada does not have the freedoms that Russia does as Mother Russia is bound to the civilization. This is observable in my Alexander Nevsky whose Novgorod does have a tundra bias as well as my Ivan the Terrible whose Muscovy does not have a tundra bias which frees up the Muscovite traits. The only other solution is a separate and global Canada rework that anticipates more alt leaders.

This is kinda like the Canadian leader but more modern
