I Am The Main Character

Description
I am the Main Character!

Have you ever gotten tired of savescumming when your main character dies? Ever wanted to solo a game and gotten annoyed how many limitations each race has? Ever wanted your main character to be a jack of all trades and not have such a big grind? Well this might be for you!

What this mod does:
This is a simple mod that gives you the option to start as an enhanced Main Character. This adds MC (main character) sub classes for all normally playable sub-classes. The MC sub classes have the best traits of all the classes and no downsides. I left skeleton oil values alone including "bleed" rate as those are a bit OP anyway.

Perks:
⦁ All have Shek strength and blood amount.
⦁ All have skeleton body/limb health (fleshy races will still be fleshy).
⦁ All have Hive speed values, dexterity values and bleed rates (except skeleton for bleed).
⦁ All experience values are boosted.
⦁ There are no negative experience rates.
⦁ All clothing slots have been opened.

What this mod doesn't do:
Affect anything in the Kenshi world. All vanilla races stay the same and MC sub-classes cannot be recruited. These Main Characters are meant to be created characters only and their benefits are basically plot armor to your story. There should not be any changes to the actual character creation either past selecting the sub-class.

This is my first Kenshi mod. A good portion of this was just learning the FCS and having some fun in the process. If anyone finds any problems please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

To add, while making this I completely spaced that P4 Units and Soldierbots are only playable by recruitment and not by character creation. I made MC-subraces for them as well before I remembered. Since it took time and in my mind doesn't hurt anything I left them as is, so you will see them under the skeleton race as well.

I also wanted to add the very basic method for making my mod compatible with whatever you absolutely need for a playthrough. You might need to google specific things like how to open a mod in FCS, but that's easily found information.

For a basic guide to make this compatible with others, it would be load up their mod in FCS and click the "CHANGES" button to see what was done. Anything that's been changed will show up in green text. Merge the two mods (MERGE MOD button), and add or change my MC races the same way you see the other base race changes being made. Then save to your mod folder located in the Kenshi game directory (not workshop) under a new name. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Lastly, not so much for my mod since I just changed stats, but make sure you give love to the other creator's mod pages when you do this sort of patch as often enough you'll need to uninstall the original to prevent further conflicts.

Sorry about the delayed response. In very short, it's been a helluva year and a Kenshi mod was far outweighed by RL.

For the hairstyles, I was never aware. All base game hairstyles were included with the original creation of the mod. I verified it wasn't something just on my end by downloading from the workshop and opening it as if it was another creator's work. All base hairstyles are included in the MC races in the FCS. All hair styles work fine on my end in game as well.

To get into a little more detail, the MC characters are basically copy and pasted versions of the base game races with stat modifications made. Everything was left original except for the specific changes made in the mod description.

As stated by Reeva!, there could be mod conflicts. If you use modded hair or any other modded additions to races such as animations, those will not apply to the MC's. This can be very easily corrected in the FCS on a case by case basis.

For anyone who has issues getting the MC preset to appear in character creation, using mods like ACC (Advanced Character Creator) will cause this to happen. That mod specifically is not compatible with MC.

As for hairstyles, I assume the same logic applies.

I'm not seeing any option on character creation for this subclass

This is a cool mod and I tried it out. Found out the human MC subraces only have 4 hairstyles available for some reason, so won't be using it. Still, thanks for the mod!

It's done!

Let me know when you get it added and I'll make sure to add a link in my description.

Thanks a ton!

Hi dude. I'll add support for this mod with my Mega Patch. That means all the new sub-races will work with any and all animation mods ever made (or the vast majority of them). Hivers will work with all modded hiver items/armors too.

I've had a chance download those mods and look at them in the FCS. It doesn't look like animation files merge correctly from following their work and FCS notes. In that case I believe I would need to work from within their mods and merge my edits over to patch. I have requested permission before doing anything like that on both of the mod pages, so we'll see.
