Medalusa Class Heavy Annihilation Battleship

Description
Update to my previously Uploaded replica of the Medalusa Class Heavy Annihilation Battleship from the "Space Battleship Yamato" (Starblazers) series.
Compared to the previous version this one now features correctly coloured Thrusters, a slightly more stable Flame Cannon and one or two internal "problems" were fixed. Alongside that it now makes use of the correct Version of Weaponcore.

Some important info's:
-This thing is quite big (roughly 250.000PCU and 50.000 blocks)
-The Hinge contraptions might make Clang very angry at some point in time.
-Remember to turn Thruster Damage OFF.

-While the mods are hard requirements not having the DLC's should not break the ship, however it will lead to you needing to set up your own Cockpit.

Class
-Heavy Annihilation Battleship

Fighters
-Hangar and Flight Deck for multiple Aircraft.
(mostly Decorational, Elevator doesn't work)

Armaments
-1 Flame Strike Cannon
-1 quintuple-mount bow Turret
-3 rapid fire Turrets
-10 Rapid-fire Turrets for AA purpose
-9 frontal torpedo Launchers

Engine
-Gatlantean Warp capable Engine

Length
-505 meters

Background:

The Medalusa Class Heavy Annihilation Battleship was the result of tests for a new type of large warship by the Gatlantis Empire. Being equiped with highly advanced weaponry created by captured scientist it brings an impressive amount of firepower to the frontlines of the Gatlantis Empire.

Compared to older Battleships of the Gatlantis Empire the Medalusa focuses a lot more on firepower, in exchange for Armor, being able to only barely withstand a single Torped Hit and taking noticeable damage to it's hull from even smaller calibre weapons.
As such it focuses on long-range Attacks using it's massive quintuple bow-mounted Cannon and Flame Strike Cannon, destroying even capital ships with only a few salvos without ever getting into the enemies range of fire.

This replica uses the Star Blazers Mods made by ribera1945e and requires Weaponcore to work correctly.

Hello Smaragdine,

The only DLC's really worth looking at are the Deco 3, Heavy Industry, Frostbite and Wasteland DLC's
The main choice would be the Deco 3 DLC. It has very good Models and the Inset Blocks can decorate a Ship quite nice.

The Heavy Industry gives a collection of both Scaffolding and Pipe blocks, both of them are often used on Workshop ships and not having to "reconnect" the entire ship might be nice.

The Frostbite DLC offers two variants for Doors. A normal door and a small Hangar Gate. Both look quite nice and can add nice Detail to Ships.

The Wasteland DLC in turn offers two nice looking Window Variants and some decorative Shelfs.

To sum up:
The Deco 3 DLC is likely the best choice. When it comes to the other three all would be "a nice to have" but purely because Heavy Industry offers the Pipes, which could actually have a major impact on some Ships i'd go with that one as a second pick.
I hope this helps you somewhat in your decision-making.

Since there's a steam sale now, and there's not a single game I'm interested in right now, I figured I'd buy some DLC to make these workshop ships work better
I just bought Automatons and Warfare 2, and I already have Decorative Pack 1 and 2. I can buy 2 more, so which are the best to buy for the sake of this ship?

No need to be sorry, as while I don't particularly like ships that have more DLC in them than an average EA title, that's because I don't think I should have to pay $5 for an extra set of 5 - 20 blocks that I can just get mods for. All my blame is on Keen!

I'm very sorry. It seems i like there is always something i forget....

Ok. Place down two Timer-Blocks.
Both of them need to have a timer of 1sec.
The first one needs the following actions:
- FlameCannonHinge -> reverse (group)
- Front-ArmorHinge -> reverse (group)
- Hinge-Front Armor2 -> reverse (group)
- Timer Block 2 -> Start (the other timer you placed)
- Merge-Armor -> Toggle Block On/Off (group)
- Landing Gear-Flame -> Unlock

The second one needs the following action:
- Pistons Front-Armor -> reverse (also a group)

I hope that this will finally solve all the problems you have encountered. Should anything else come up, please write another message.

It would appear there is a distinct lack of timer-block on the ship. I assume that, too, is a DLC variant of a block?
flashwing2002  [author] 9 Mar, 2024 @ 5:35pm
No problem, smaragdine. here is the setup i used:

1.) Flame Strike Cannon -> Toggle Mouse Shoot (the Cannon block)
2.) Gatlantis 1000mm Cannon -> Control Mode (again, the single block)
3.) Timer-FlameCannon1 -> Start (a single block, make sure you use Nr.1, not 2)
4.) Hinges-FlameCannon -> HingeLock On/Off (The hinge group. Make sure to use Hinges-
FlameCannon, NOT FlameCannonHinge group)
5.) Main Turrets -> Toggle Block On/Off (should be a group)
6.) Anti Air Turrets -> Toggle Block On/Off (also a group)
7.) Battery's -> Recharge On/Off (also a group)
8.) Thrusters -> Toggle Block On/Off (also a group)
9.) Engines -> Toggle Block On/Off (also a group)

I hope this will help you enjoy the ship just a bit more. I somehow completly forgot, that Cockpits could also be deleted, when the DLC's are not owned. You learn every day...

Since I would rather wait for a sale to buy a $5 in-game seat, it would be convenient if you could comment about the setup, thank you
flashwing2002  [author] 9 Mar, 2024 @ 4:40pm
That is quite weird, that you can't see/find the main Seat. It should be the first cockpit you see on the main bridge. However the cockpit i used was the one from the "Warfare 2" DLC, so that might also be it. Should that DLC be the reason, why it is not showing up making your own is likely the best thing to do.

Even though you likely found your own setup, should you be interested in how the original was set up i would be willing to write it in a comment for you, if you want that.

Exciting :]

Also, I'm not sure if perhaps I'm just not looking in the right places, but I cannot seem to find the main pilot seat (I had to make one myself as a result). Is it part of a DLC I don't have? (that being...all but 2 of them.)
