Description
This MOD is still Work In Progress.

Short explanation for busy Survivor
  • Adds a regularly recurring treasure hunt event to Knox
  • Events will be notified by pagers dropped by zombies, and you can get the item by being the first to reach the designated location within the time.
  • Server admin and single player can freely edit event content without going through the workshop.



Dear Survivor,

Do you know that there is a secret organization in Knox?

The size and whereabouts of the members of the organization are unknown. But they seem to be quite large in number and often move from place to place, safely avoiding the living and the dead.

A few days ago, while scavenging through several zombies' belongings, I found a pager in one of their pockets. It still had some battery left and seemed to be receiving a message.

~When I checked the screen, the words "delivery" along with some numbers flashed on the display. I thought these might be location indicators, so I headed over the coordinates. ~

And then, at the designated location, salvation. There was a bag filled with supplies. Its contents were fresh meat and fruit, things you almost never come across. This bag must have been placed there just recently!

Could the pager be this organization's only way of communicating? What else are they distributing within the city proper?

I may have stumbled onto something that might help me survive this dreaded apocalypse and with this receiver, I wonder if I can get to the supplies before the organization does.

Description

Features
- Treasure hunt events will occur periodically.
- You can adjust the event cycle in sandbox settings.
- You need to find a pager to get a treasure hunt hint.
- Pagers are found in zombie loot.
- be careful. Even zombies can hear the pager ringtone.
- Target location may be spawned by zombies(No, will surely there...)
- Features 20 preset event patterns and over 800 locations.
- There will be opportunities to receive various rewards depending on the type of event.
- No more running to Gigamart on the first day and flesh meat in the freezer.
- On multi-servers, you will be able to obtain guns and ammunition at events without participating in the Police Station Marathon.

Event patterns can be edited freely without going through the Steamworkshop

Sure, You can also add coordinates according to the location of the MODs map.

It may take about 15 minutes to 30 minutes to get used to event editing, but once you get used to it, it's easy.

To server admin
This MOD is a event generator for server admins.
Born to reduce the hassle of overzealous (or lazy) server admins.
In a Knox where fresh food has disappeared, Gunfights may break out for burgers and mayonnaise at event locations
When Knox stuck in a rut, edit your event pattern to give hungry survivors events that bring hope.
No need to distribute edited events files to clients.
Server admins can share new event patterns with everyone by simply restarting the server.
On multi-servers, there are also admin commands that take effect immediately without restarting.

Installation
Once you subscribe and start Zomboid, the event generator will start working.
This mod is adjusted to a game speed where in-game one day passes in two hours.
If you feel the event is ending too quickly or too slowly, adjust it in the sandbox settings.
The default event file will be automatically installed in the USER folder upon first startup.
If you want to customize event, Edit the event file in the USER folder

ex.) C:\Users\USER\Zomboid\Lua\pkszTHv202403

Known issues
Vehicles cannot be set for rewards
The event is initialized when you exit the game (shutdown/restart).
In single-player mode, you must reach the destination in one play.

Thank you for the great mod — I'm really enjoying using it.
I have a question regarding the pager feature. When I equip the pager on my belt and press the F key, it activates. However, this seems to conflict with the lantern I have attached to my bag, as the lantern no longer responds to the shortcut key.
Is there a way to change the pager’s hotkey or disable it entirely?

If there are 100 types of events, the probability of occurrence is 1%.
There is a debugging function that allows you to set certain event codes to occur.
Ah, normally you can't change the settings in single player.
I think there was a MOD that allowed you to change the settings in single player...

If the event description fails to load due to an error, the log file may contain some hints.

The reason why I did not implement a mechanism to trigger events at random coordinates is because this mod is made for multiplayer servers.
On multiplayer servers, the coordinate situation can change due to various circumstances, and the occurrence of an event may cause a CTD.
For example, I considered a mechanism to check whether the coordinates are safe every time an event occurs, but I prioritized reducing the processing load and did not implement it.
These may be acceptable in single player, but it is necessary to check the safety of coordinates when an event occurs.

Also just to check, if I have more than one event file running does the mod choose from all event options? For example if I had a custom event file with 80 events and the vanilla with 20 events, the chance to run Any event is 1%?

Is it possible to implement a system where my current location is tracked, and events occur only within a predefined area that I set?

I've already seen examples on GitHub where coordinates are specified, but rather than targeting a specific place, I want to limit the event occurrence to the city I'm currently in (or sometimes a nearby city), rather than the entire world.

There is no difference in performance between the colors.
You only need one
I think it's a good idea to have two in case the battery runs out.
