Original description

The fundamental idea to understand the changes for this mod is to ask yourself: "Did it feel like I am missing *modded thing* when playing vanilla Rimworld?". This is what makes me download mods, finding that one thing that I felt like the game was missing. Clutter, retextures of existing items and unbalanced gimmicks weren't any of them.
Because I am a vanilla player, even if some others may claim to be too without really meaning it.

Feel free to discuss and provide feedback on the changes, recommend adjustments, and report errors and warnings in the comments. Criticism is welcome.

Summary of changes and explanations: https://pastebin.com/gGmXR0nW

In the future I would like to see some of the removed items restored by turning them into texture variants for existing items based on either the Ideology style system, Quality Of Building, or Vanilla Textures Expanded - Variations. (I, the reviver of this mod, do not hold the same values and aspirations, but I might de-bloat other VE mods in the future if I feel like it.)

Known Issues
  • Incompatible with Combat Extended.
  • I advice against toggling any of the features of the mod on or off during an active playthrough. I try to avoid causing issues like vanishing objects, but it's better for you to be careful.
  • Made specifically for version 1.4 and after. If you want to use this mod on a previous version, then I suggest using the original Clean Vanilla Expanded.

Other notes
  • Must be loaded after all the Vanilla Expanded mods and any other mod for which a compatibility patch is mentioned;
  • Now utilized XML Extentions to add options with no code whatsoever.
  • Recommended to use a visual research tree mod to amend the confusing connections between modded research nodes;
  • I also recommend Niilo's QoL as it de-bloats the Building tabs and even removes some things from VE mods in the same way that this mod does.

Ah ok, well looking forward to any changes you make. I reckon 1.6 will be really big and given how many people on reddit also think that VE has some serious balance issues, I reckon this mod will gain a lot of traction.

I don't remember. Also, that's not my Pastebin, it's the previous author's. I really need to go through what this mod does and update stuff. I'll do it after the DLC release.

Absolute legend, thanks for making vanilla expanded mods usable.

Btw when you say that you have patches for the VE cooking mods, does that mean that you made balance changes for them that aren't mentioned in your Pastebin?

Thanks dude! I don't subscribe to the vanilla expanded and other vanilla mods because the create errors that spam my log.

@Samuel_Bucher another good answer is to replace all of the pawn's limbs with prosthetics, as they have no sub components.

I have a lot of crafting to do.

@Killsode
A much better answer to that question is enabling coverage for fingers and toes on power armor, which several mods do.
Killsode 26 May @ 9:10am
I will say "why isnt there armor for the hands and feet" has actually been a question i've asked and been answered by the marine gloves&boots. Seriously, the amount of lost fingers and toes in vanilla is obscene.
