Taming is not working fully but apparently they will self-tame. They have corpses set as their custom food, and apparently they get caught up in the regular firefly cleanup so enjoy them while they last.

Fireflies should no longer be affected by animal insanity events (their damage is also set to 0 if somehow they do become hostile).

Original mod notes (1.3):

A simple, yet... heart warming, mod that adds fireflies to the Rim.
I'm a wildlife ecologist by day, so I thought this would be a great little weekend mod.

*If you're using the mod "Choose Wild Animal Spawns" then you need to manually adjust their spawn in that mods settings!*

Very sporadic movements.
Nocturnal, you will only see them at night.
They actually flicker on and off randomly.
Anatomically correct!
Will spawn during the early hours of the night, in groups.
Kill some and find out what they drop!
Build a luminous jar to commemorate them!
Search around for the fun facts in-game. ;)
Blocked from animal-related storyteller quests.
Performance? Just fine. They don't actually produce any light sources in-game.

Not really. If you spawn their pawn from the debug menu those fireflies seem to persist through cleanup. I can't say how long they live or what else might go on with them though.

Updated: Fireflies now deal 0 damage ... still annoying if they go manhunter, but I'm working to patch that out, this is termporary. My apologies and condolences to your colonists.

A firefly went manhunter and managed to kill three people before finally downed.
I think the firefly pawn needs some nerf in terms of attack power and health
