Not really. If you spawn their pawn from the debug menu those fireflies seem to persist through cleanup. I can't say how long they live or what else might go on with them though.

Updated: Fireflies now deal 0 damage ... still annoying if they go manhunter, but I'm working to patch that out, this is termporary. My apologies and condolences to your colonists.

A firefly went manhunter and managed to kill three people before finally downed.
I think the firefly pawn needs some nerf in terms of attack power and health

I think these fireflies might be tankier than literally anything else I've hunted so far. Even the big shell crabs that make mountains their home from Alpha Animals didn't live this long.

I have 166 conditions that need tending on one firefly, still counting up, 11 bleeding injuries of various severities...and the bleeding tracker says "no immediate danger."

What the actual fuck. XDDDD

You kill fireflies for their essence, which deteriorates quickly (possibly too quickly, I'll take a look).

Obviously these are genetically altered fireflies that can survive in extreme environments, totally intended. :)

they spawn in space environments from Rimnauts, I'll try to solve it on my own. I've made a few personal patch's here and there for other mods

Do fireflies spawn winter or cold biomes? It seems they have -100/+100 heat tolerance.

Whoops I apologize Zaljerem, I'm so used to so many of the continued mods being done by Mlie I just assumed without looking! Anyways the error does seem to be on "Camera+"s end but they have comments disabled so I can't really let them know. Will just have to go without it till they get things sorted out cause disabling this mod would make my colony very dark lol. I appreciate the quick response and glad it's not an error with this mod, sounds like other people are having issues with camera+ as well. Thank you for continuing such a wonderful mod and have a great day! :)

There are lots of people saying that the latest update to camera+ is buggy for other reasons, so I would wait until they fix things on their end, or post under camera+.

Hello Mlie, it appears the latest update of "Camera+" has caused an issue, whenever a firefly is onscreen the UI disappears and I get:

spammed in the debug log. It only happens on 1.5, 1.4 appears to be working fine.

one minor suggestion, can fire fly essence have a default deteriorate rate? It makes quite a bit of litter when you got mobs that kill them :S

I set what I thought was the key to prevent that, but it's still happening to me also. I'll dig deeper when I get a chance. At least they seem to be harmless.

Might want to also do something about Fireflies becoming manhunters lol. I've had mad animal incidents a time or two with these guys and they just kind of float around and don't actually do anything.

Updated to 1.5: Hopefully addresses some issues!

Added herdMigrationAllowed = false
Added PawnTrapSpringChance = 0
Added canBecomeShambler = false
Changed combatPower = 1

(I thought I disabled manhunter also, I may have missed it, will verify for next update.)

Note: essence drops are temporarily disabled, will be restored soon.

Fun fact, these adorable little guys will set off traps! My cavalry spikes are coated in glowing blood and I've no spike traps left after a pack wandered into my raid hallway. My researcher just worked out how to build an IED, no way this goes wrong!

(They probably should be changed to have a very low trap trigger chance but also the tiny bug setting things off is hilarious)

Correction: I spoke with my friend that helps me when I stumble with modding. It's more likely the overall point value of the critters. (Man I would love to be able to just edit posts here lol)

The herd size might be related to their size, at 0.00? I might be mistaken, but I think that plays a part in migration/etc calcs? (You'd be surprised how large other creatures are, I wouldn't be afraid to make these unrealistically large lol). Dunno, though. I need to get back into working on my couple mods for the game lol

Looks like I have some things to look into. These reports have been hilariously entertaining though! While most of these bugs have been more benign, I do feel bad about the 2000+ firefly herd that brought the person's game to a crawl.

Update as of now: Something made the 'herd' of fireflies on my map go manhunter, so now I have a swarm of angry bugs racing toward my base. I fear for they are flashing rather angrily out there...

First time playing with this mod - I've had three self tame in a short time. Just have a firefly zipping around my base happily looking into every room while everyone's asleep and then just despawns in the morning, lol.

Well, it was fun while it lasted!

Fun firefly fact: I had one spawn with an old gunshot scar on its leg and it had a slower movement speed, so I guess they use their legs to move? lol

It lasted about 3 minutes, then it spontaneously despawned. I had it selected and was looking at its food meter to make sure it would eat, and it suddenly disappeared. The food bar was around 10%, but there was no message or letter saying anything about it.
