Description
Simple mod that diversifies fluid storage, giving each container a purpose. This mod is a spiritual successor to More Fluid Storage by Angry Static.

Changes
Waterskin
Liquid in this item counts for 75% of their normal encumbrance.

Canteen
Capacity raised to 128 drams
Liquid in this item counts for 90% of their normal encumbrance.

Camel Bladder
Capacity raised to 256 drams
When worn, liquid in this item counts for 25% of their normal encumbrance.

Clay Jug
Capacity raised to 1024 drams

Jugs (and all subcategory of jugs) are now specialized for long term liquid storage at a base or outpost. Grab a few when you are in red rock!

Catch Basin
Capacity raised to 8192
Its a massive tub, why could this only hold 64 drams?

Use 'not nailed down' and recoilers or spawn one in with your console if you want one in your base.

New Items

Jerrycan
Capacity of 512 drams
When held in hand, liquid in this item counts for 50% of their normal encumbrance.
Added to loot tables, you can almost always find one at Mafeo's shop or anywhere waterskins are sold.

Rules are the same as a camel bladder but the item cant be worn on your back. Saying "when worn" for when its held in your hand felt weird

Kleine Bottle
Capacity of 8192 drams
Item, and contained liquid weigh nothing.
Added to loot tables, you will find them semi-uncommonly late-game.

Be very careful of normality effects or find yourself stuck in place by hundreds of pounds of water.

Why did I make these changes and additions?
The game lacks any means of efficient large scale liquid transport and storage. It intends for you to first convert water into precious metals or other trade goods but this is not possible with liquids such as honey, blood, oil, and other useful stuff.

Flexible Container Effect
Transporting water has a number of issues beyond weight. Water held in a rigid container will slosh around and compromise balance. Flexible containers like a waterskin mitigate this like a car's crumple zone, making liquids 'lighter'.

Camel Bladders and Jerrycans
These pieces of equipment are specialized for liquid transport. It is much easier to hike 50 miles with water on your back than it is in your arms, trust me. From a gameplay angle they take up valuable equipment slots, so 32 drams was downright awful.

Jugs and the Catch Basin
What is the purpose of a jug if it cannot hold more fluid than a waterskin 1/5th of its weight? What have humans used jugs for since the neolitic period?

Keep a catch basin in your main base, and recoil jugs over to an outpost to keep topped off on oil, cider, and honey while exploring.

The Kleine Bottle
I don't know if this item is realistically useful, nor is it realistic period. From my gameplay testing it killed me literally every time I forgor about normality gas and got effectively rooted in place. Still I wanted an glittertech bottle and the only way to go is extradimensional storage.

Where will this mod go from here?
I am open to adding any user suggestions. I will add a tinkering mod to water containers that raises capacity, and potentially add the 'flexible container effect' of the waterskin to the camel bladder for when it isnt equipped.

Cool.

@Fredrick.Knight I'll admit i had no clue those existed. I'll see if they are defined in XML, but they might be generated as a part of flesh guns. I'll most likely bump them up as that's a fairly high tier rare storage item.

@Incorporeal I am planning a high tier alternate to the klein bottle called the "stasis keg" which handles around 128 drams of all dangerous liquids, and is capable of pouring them out safely. Neutron flux appears to require a 1 dram container as it always exploded larger containers in my testing, but it's pretty easy to code an exception to that.

I don't want the klein bottle to be the best at absolutely everything. Also lava is worth 25x as much as water and is available in ludicrous quantities, which breaks the economy even worse than the klein bottle does already haha.

I am also looking to add a salt shaker that guarantees a tasty bonus to cooking if it has salt, without costing an ingredient slot.

I like this idea and I'm going to download this and give it a shot, but I'm not seeing anything about the storage tank. You get them from disarming psychal flesh gun turrets and they start at 128 drams. I like them because I can tinker on the 'fitted with suspensors" mod, and more recently gigantic.

Does this mod do anything to those?

It would be amazing if kleine bottles could hold more dangerous liquids like lava, etc.

I'll take another look once finals are over, thanks for the heads up and kind words

Great work on this mod. Love it!

As of patch 1.04, the Catch Basin is in it's own category "Water Container" where all others are in "Water Container". I don't know if this was always true.

Can the bubble level help identify items when held in hand...? Different liquids give different accuracy values perhaps?

@moonracer Interesting, any ideas on unique mechanics for ingredient containers? I think 5-10 dram containers could reasonably weigh 0-1lbs. I think a salt shaker could possibly have the ability to slowly generate salt from the naturally salty environment of qud. I'd need to work on flavoring to make it make sense but I am not opposed to the idea.

Better explanation for my request. The salt mill weighs 1 lb and holds 1 dram of fluid (salt) It appears to be unique in that it is organized into the food category. If it held 5 drams of salt, it would be worth carrying to allow making a few meals while adventuring. Having one for honey and other cooking liquids would be great.
