Islamic Instability

Description
Tired of massive Muslim Empires that never seem to collapse? Tired of Islam conquering half of the known world in the early start dates? This mod is for you!

When a Muslim King* or Emperor dies, all unlanded, capable, adult male dynasty members with a claim on the Kingdom/Empire will immediately declare war on the successor in their own bid for the throne (content characters, prisoners, and friends of the ruler are exempt). They will spawn a reinforcing army in a random county within the realm that matches the ruler's in strength by 75% to 125%. If they have certain traits like Strategist or Diligent they can potentially increase this to over 200%, though these additional soldiers will not reinforce (other than for Ambitious).

If one of the claimants is successful in pressing their claim, the ruling dynasty gains a whopping 50% decadence. A high decadence percentage makes Islamic realms naturally susceptible to decadence revolts, which cause the realm to shatter if the revolt is successful. This mod makes such collapses inevitable, as civil wars with numerous claimants will practically guarantee concurrent overthrows that rapidly stack up decadence points for the ruling dynasty.

Unlike most CBs in the game, even a white peace is detrimental to the defender; the claimant will keep whatever territory they've managed to occupy with their soldiers, and the ruling dynasty gains 25% decadence.

Now you actually have a reason to land claimants besides your desired heir when playing as a Muslim!

*This mod will run on both kings and emperors before 1066, since that's when Islam is at it's strongest in-game. After 1066, it will only run on Emperors to keep Muslim realms from getting too weak.

It should be noted that the title of this mod is a bit of a misnomer; it applies specifically to any realms with the "Open" succession type, which means Muslims who manage to adopt elective succession will not be hampered by the effects of this mod (though AI Muslims never seem to adopt elective succession anyway). It also means this mod WILL effect pagan faiths that adopt Open succession via the Enatic/Agnatic Clans doctrine (Enatic Clans will instead run the event on female claimants rather than male ones), though pagan rulers will not accrue decadence from losing/white-peacing to a claimant.

If you want to play as a Muslim with this mod, please also check out my Feudal Governments Expanded mod. Among many other things, it adds some new government types specifically for Muslims, including an Islamic version of Imperialism that can protect your realm from the dynastic civil wars caused by this mod.

This mod is held together by duct tape and bubble gum. It's a miracle it works at all. If you notice any bugs, please report them and I will try my best to fix them. Thanks and enjoy.

i think its working but an independent kingdom in al-andalus is being funny again and invading france. i appreciate the mod for ending the ugly blobs in the middle east and so on, but i think itd be cool to add a gamemode that allows kingdoms to collapse past 1066. (they arent forming the empire of hispania because they wont take 1 more small duchy in galicia)
