Achaemenid Legends - GIGACHAD Legends

Description
This is a mod which adds 5 completely unique legends to the game which correspond to various figures in Achaemenid and Ancient Persian history.

Legends of the Dead was, to me, quite flawed in its implementation of Legends due to the fact that there are only 3 legend types, whose outcomes are all exactly the same (except legitimizing legends, which let you diverge into a dead culture's group and language sometimes.)

This is my answer to that critique, at least to some extent. I think one way to help a lot with these flaws is to at least create many different legends whose outcomes are unique, and that's exactly what these five legends are.

This mod's 1.0 version features 5 legends, with custom chronicles, a couple new traits, 5 new culture traditions, 2 artifacts, a new special lifestyle tree, several decisions and 3 MAA-types.

PATCH 2.0: Adds 31 new events, and some artifacts to the legends, which give each of them much more flavor.

The main focus is of course the Legends, which act as the paths to unlock all the content in the DLC. The legends revolve around the Persian Empire, of course, but have various requirements that make them much more interesting to unlock.

If you find any bugs, localization errors or just concerns in general, be sure to ping me on Discord and let me know so I can fix it.

ALSO I BELIEVE YOU ONLY NEED LEGENDS OF THE DEAD but it's possible I'm wrong so if things aren't working and you want to tell me about a bug, let me know what, if any, DLCs you're missing, since that might be important. I'll update the required DLCs as necessary.

Patch 1.0.1: Moved mod contents from "trait.txt" into their own file, which should fix any compatibility issues that pop up around traits. This mod overwrites the "wise man/wise woman" trait so if you have a mod which modifies that particular trait, you may have compatibility issues. Otherwise, there should be no compatibility issues.

Patch 2.0: added random events, and artifacts to the Achaemenid Legends.

Patch 2.0.1: Fixed a handful of bugs, and polished up the Mod. This is, for now, the final version. I may return to this mod one day and update it more, but for now, I'm moving on to new projects. Thanks to everyone who played it! I learned a ton from the experience!

Patch 2.0.1.1: Updated for 1.14.2.2, finally.

2) Avestan, after completing Zoroaster’s Legacy, you get the opportunity to hire some really skilled Mobeds. I love their unique trait of Gathas Scholar, but afterwards it seems to just sort of fizzle out. What if, and this is just a thought, you could work with them to craft an Avestan language? Historically the Avestan language was never written, being merely an oral language until very recently. The language the Achaemenids spoke being Old Persian. In crafting this new Avestan language, you could then get an event to spread it as an Iranian language where everyone within your empire who has an Iranian language as their native language can choose one of three options

A) Adopt Avestan
B) Learn Avestan but keep their OG language [this would create a decision to change their cultural language to Avestan]
C) Refuse. However if the AI decides to learn Avestan at some later point they’ll unlock the option of B.

This will be needing another update with the new 1.15 patch.

On a side note, might I suggest a change to a couple of the legends:

1) The Legacy of Amestris while fascinating, is rather baffling on how you need to own a specific province in order to get it. While I don’t deny the rest of the requirements are perfect, I’d like to suggest that rather than having to own Amestris and Heraclea directly, that you simply need to have them in your kingdom/empire. This will keep it open to the holder of the Persian Empire, even if they don’t hold it directly.

This is what the DLC should have been. Honestly I just use legends when I have tons of cash to get a renown boost. The unique buildings are cool but things like special units, innovations, and special artifacts would make the vanilla legends so much better.
