Lore

"In the bustling cantinas scattered across the galaxy, whispers of AshCorp's latest breakthroughs echo through the air, igniting a fervor among spacefarers and settlers alike. The allure of laser-based tools, with their promise of efficiency and precision, captivates the imagination of all who hear of them. Sensing the opportunity amidst the growing demand, Vortex seized upon the chance to further cement their place in the cosmos.

Drawing upon their extensive experience and intimate knowledge of the market, Vortex Tactical brokered a groundbreaking contract with AshCorp, securing the rights to harness the foundational principles of the revolutionary gravitational technology. With unwavering determination, they channeled their efforts into their burgeoning Vortex Industrial division, tasked with bringing this innovative technology to fruition.

Over a span of three months, Vortex Industrial embarked on a relentless pursuit of perfection. Grind mode offset is incorrect on small tool large and small versions. It extends way behind the tool itself.

Grind mode is set to either line or ray on the large grid version of the large tool, which is inconsistent with being set to cylinder on the small grid version, not sure if intended.

Grind mode on large grid small version is also a line, it is also offset forward a meter or two compared to where the tool itself is located.

@Palpatine I tried to build a ring with these vortex multitools in order to dismantle the wreckage of huge ships. And I noticed one peculiarity: the grinding mode for small grid blocks works not in a line but in a cylinder, while large grid blocks only have a line. Perhaps it would be worth adding a cylindrical grinding zone to the large grid as well?

@Palpatine I've encountered an odd bug. The grinding mode for the small laser is invisible when in use. When turned on the laser shows up briefly, but then disappears even though the tool is still active. The large one does the same thing for grind mode, and the weld mode for the large one is invisible until you start moving around. Is this something you can fix or is it Space Engineer's spaghetti code?

After several days of thinking about it on and off, I've finally realized what you don't understand.

You think I mean the tool stopped running. That is not the case. The tool IS running, but voxel harvesting freezes.

@The Nameless This means you need more power. The flicker is Toolcores way of showing you that it needs more power.
@cbct Yes it is, Toolcore and Weaponcore are managed by the same body and fully compatible.

Hi there! i was just wondering if this is compatible with Weaponcore?

When mining, works briefly then stops deleting voxels. Starts working if I use secondary mode, then stops again.

Does it have enough power?

Also, the welders will not affect anything attached to the same grid as the welder itself. As soon as you detach the intended block from the same grid, it will begin welding.

Replying to my previous post, the welder seems to have a minimum work distance of 7 large blocks. Is that on purpose? I have not seen that stated anywhere.
