BALD BULL CHARGES IN!


The infamous boxer from Punch Out, Bald Bull, is here in Rivals of Aether!
A classic bruiser that trades the blazing speed you'd expect from a boxer for weight and devastating damage, along with a few extra tricks up his non-existent sleeves.
He's also got a home stage, Bathhouse Brawl!


GIMMICK: Rage

Similar to Smash's rage mechanic; Bald Bull becomes stronger the more damage he takes, up to an extra 6% per attack at max Rage. You'll also receive a movement speed buff, capping out at your max of 120%.
The longer Bald Bull can keep his chin up for, the tougher of an opponent he'll become!

NSPECIAL: Demir Pompalama

Bald Bull pulls out a dumbbell and disrespectfully starts pumping iron in the middle of a fight.
A short-ranged projectile that travels in an arc. You can pump iron up to three times (indicated by the stars that appear next to Bald Bull) to increase the dumbbell's strength and traveled distance.
Pressing Parry while pumping iron will cause you to have a little...extra strength, behind your throw. Ouch.
Lastly, if you have an active charge of Adrenaline, this move becomes 25% faster, letting you better pressure your opponents before you swoop in to begin a turbo combo!

FSPECIAL: Bull Charge

Bald Bull's most iconic special move; a chargeable dash that can't be stored.
Hold Special to build up speed by running in place, then release to take off!
Hit Special again to perform a fast and deadly uppercut that immediately stops you in place! This uppercut's strength scales with how long you've charged your run for (also how red Bald Bull's outline is!)
Like in Punch Out, Bald Bull will be in a world of hurt if he gets hit while running. Specifically, he'll take 1.5x damage and knockback from any physical hit.
You can also jump cancel this move, but you'll retain your 1.5x damage/knockback modifier until you hit an opponent, airdodge or land.
Lastly, running into any kind of wall, whether a stage-control move (Kragg pillar) or the stage itself, will cause Bald Bull to bonk his head and stop in place, taking recoil damage. Extra ouch.

USPECIAL: Rising Horns

A powerful diagonal lariat that acts as an effective anti-air and combo ender.
Bald Bull will punch after a second of delay, but you can punch earlier by pressing Special.
Landing this move while you have Adrenaline will allow you to cancel it into another Up Special!

DSPECIAL: Reelback

A counter based on Bald Bull's bull-stopping technique from the Title Defense match!
Take 50% of incoming damage, and knock the opponent off of you with a mighty headbutt.
A successful Reelback will grant you one charge of Adrenaline, granting Bald Bull temporary Turbo starting on his next hit until the end of a combo!
Getting hit five times, getting parried or dying will consume your Adrenaline.
While you have an Adrenaline charge, you can't use Reelback again until you consume your Adrenaline.

Moves of Note:
DATTACK: Bucking Bronco

A burst move option, similar to Maypul's Dash Attack. Bull headbutts anyone who he makes contact with, popping them upwards for a follow up. You can also run off of ledge with this move, letting you get creative with approaches or off-stage confirms!

DSTRONG: Canvas Quake

Bald Bull stomps his foot down, creating a shockwave around him. How unsportsmanlike!
Fast but weak, it acts more like a combo extender than a proper Strong; on hit, you can cancel into any of your tilts, letting you squeeze in extra damage during combos.
