Description
Adds the Frontier Town Quarter district that allows working tiles in the fourth and fifth city ring.




Details
  • This isn’t a specialty district, so it doesn’t require population.
  • Tiles in the outer ring can be worked just like those in the inner three rings.
  • Wonders or districts cannot be placed in the outer rings.
  • Tiles in the outer rings can now be swapped.

District (Medieval Era - Feudalism)

Citizens can work tiles in the fourth ring of this city.
Tiles in the fourth ring of this city can be purchased by Gold.
Culture bombs adjacent neutral tiles. Culture bombs can annex tiles in the fourth ring of this city.

+1 Housing
Cannot be adjacent to a City Center.

Building (Industrial Era - Urbanization)

Citizens can work tiles in the fifth ring of this city.
Tiles in the fifth ring of this city can be purchased by Gold.
Railroad bombs adjacent owned tiles if the technology Steam Power is researched at the time of completion. Culture bombs can annex tiles in the fifth ring of this city.

Requires: Frontier Town Quarter


Known Issues & How To Contribute?
  • Worked tiles in the outer rings currently lack animations, such as spinning windmills. If you have experience with improvement 3D modding and would like to contribute, please get in touch with us.
  • Mountain tiles in outer rings acquired through purchase, swapping, or culture bombs won’t apply modifiers (such as Inca production) until reloading the game.

Related Mods
This mod is based on the Neighborhood Tall Extension from CypRyan's Wide&Tall.
If you combine these mods the Neighborhood Tall Extension will be removed and the Frontier Town Quarter district remains.
In case you feel like the ability to work the outer rings should be harder to unlock, the CypRyan's Wide&Tall without this mod.

Yeah, that's understandable. I figured that it's probably something that can't easily be fixed, like the asset limit or builder lag, or otherwise you'd have done it already. Still a cool mod, though! :cupup:

I am very sorry, but I doubt I can do anything about it. The implementation using lua scripting is suboptimal performance wise.
There is a dll implementation that should have better performance.

I'll second the lag issue. It's pretty annoying, but for me it's more like 1-2 seconds so I've been able to deal with it so far.

I believe the mod works how it should, however I've been getting extreme lag spikes whenever I purchase a tile in a city with the frontier town. Like 4-5 seconds of the game being frozen to the point i worry the game crashed

I have built Frontier town but it is not unlocking the forth ring to work, I have used this mod Before and it used to work, idk what happened
