Fishing Traps, Advanced Cooking, Salt Making Add-on (UPDATED)

Description
This fishing mod allows you to place a trap in the water with some bait and you can walk away for a while. It will catch all types of fish depending on the locations. The book will explain each location and the type of fish you can catch. When the trap is full you will be notified but you need to get to it because a full trap can eventually be destroyed by the fish. Animals may even be attracted to it and destroy your trap to get to the fish and may linger around waiting for you.

This mod has 3 main components as the title says,

I - FISHING: 1 new book and 2 new skills, FISHING SENSE and COLLECT WOOD.
Book - A Beginners Guide To Trap Fishing. Reading this will unlock your new skills and start the mod. It
also describes how to find places to put your trap, IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ THIS TO LEARN HOW TO
FIND FISHING HOLES.

- FISHING SENSE: This is how you find the fishing locations, when you get close to a good location you will be
notified and asked it you want to setup your trap. Activate this sense like a shout or skill.
Reading the book will help you know where to look near rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Each area
will produce slightly different fish. Lasts about 5 minutes.

- COLLECT WOOD - This skill simply lets you collect branches to make the walls for fishing trap.

II- COOKING: New perk on Alchemy tree called GOURMET COOK, as your alchemy skill increases the foods you cook
will have stronger beneficial effects.

III- SALT MAKING: In the major port cities of Solitude, Windhelm and Dawnstar there are now facilities that allow you to
make simple sea salt. There is a well to draw sea water from and a large oven to boil the water. All
you have to do is fill it with a few gallons of sea water, start a fire and collect what remains. I kept it
simple so the well acts just like an activator you just click on it and you will hear the water being
collected. The ratio is about 3 or 4 piles of salt per bucket of water. The cauldron holds about 4
gallons. Will be updating this part of the mod as well down the line.

- BUCKET: You can now craft one at the forge so you don't have to search for them.

TO GET STARTED: Read the book on fishing, it is behind the GUARDIAN STONES near RIVERWOOD. It will be on top of his chest. Once you read it, it will add the new abilities.

New Recipes :

FISHING :
- Bait bag
- Fish trap wall
- Fish bait (many different types)

COOKING:
- Adds Crab meat to all crabs

- Rabbit & Crab recipes and a few others with some new effects( Now there is more of a reason to go
after rabbits). The cooking perk lowers the weight of the foods made. As your skill increases
the portions will not be as heavy.

Areas that have been completed with all possible areas to set traps.

LAKES:
Lake IIinalta (Riverwood)
Lake Honrich (Riften)
Lake Geir (Ivarstead)

RIVERS:
River flowing out of Lake IIialta to Whiterun.
River flowing out of Lake Geir (Ivarstead) down to the troll lair.

HEARTHFIRE is the only DLC needed now.

*********************************************************************************

BUTTER CHURN - I have it possible to make butter in Riverwood with a butter churn. I am testing this for addition food recipes that need butter and just to make possible to get more without having to own one Hearthfire homes. It is located on Hod and Gerdur's property (near the cow) behind the Riverwood trader. It needs milk to make butter which you can purchase from most bars.

Phoenix Knight I dont know if you ever tried my scroll crafting mod, it came out pretty good too. There are tables where you can craft the scrolls in every tavern (well almost every tavern...lol) I tried to make it lore friendly and not to OP. If you try it you can find the book in Riverwood at the Inn, it will explain everything. Anyway I thought you might take a look at it if you want. Thanks again.

Enigma_9: I still do play, and this is wonderful to hear. I'll certainly be looking this one over my next run through.

Phoenix Knight Hey, I know its been a long time but I wanted to let you know that this mod finally works they way it was intended. You now can only place one trap at a time, the trap will hold a max of 16 fish and you will be notified when the trap is full. At that point, it will continue to do a check to see if the fish with eventually destroy the traps and get out...only 10% chance. I didnt put the animal encounters back in until I knew it worked perfectly, which it is now. The animals encounters will be put back in eventually. If you still do play and get a chance I would appreciate it if you could try it and let me know. Thanks

HI everyone, its been a long time but for the people that have used this mod, I have worked long and hard on updating the fishing and it works great. Traps should no longer disappear and the only message you should get is when your trap is full. Animal encounters have been removed for now and the only thing you have to worry about ingame is leaving your traps full for too long. A full trap will be destroyed eventually by the fish, about a 10% chance for now. I am also updating the ovens, I always wanted to make them a little better and I am also tweaking some of the recipes both bait and food. Bait you now will receive more bait on less items. Example - Cheese wheels will now yield around 4 or 5 pieces of bait. Please let me know if you find anything or any comments as well on what you think it could use. Thanks

Well, the traps still tend to get destroyed after 5- 6 hours. Even waiting or camping next to the traps, you rest an hour or two, your trap is in pieces.

love the mod you must have put lots into it the salt water collectors are great but I can only get one lot at a time it won't let me repeat - is this correct is there a wait time or have I mucked things up ??
Enigma_z9  [author] 8 Jun, 2020 @ 9:50am
Phoenix Harlequin Thanks, just so you know I change the time frame that the traps should last at least a day, after that if they have a certain amount of fish in it then the chance of it being destroyed increases alot.

I'll load it up and give it a go.

Phoenix Harlequin Hey, its been a long time since I worked on this. I decided to pick it up again and see if I can figure out why you and others are not getting the correct version. Now I have been using it and dont get any of the texts that you get, so I am not sure why the correct version is not being published. If you do still play this and have this mod please let me know if this version works. Thanks
